University of Michigan

I’m a senior (girl, white) at a college-prep, private high school.
ACT- 32 (English-36, Math-27, Science-33, Reading-35, writing-7/12)
I got a 4 on the APLang exam, and I’m in APLit and expect at least a 4.
All my other CORE courses I’ve taken honors.
Right now I’m in:
Christian Lifestyles- A
Psych- A
Calculus Honors- B
APLit- A
World Religions-A
Environmental Science- A
Spanish 4 Honors- A
My weighted GPA is a 4.2 and unweighted is a 3.9.
My school doesn’t assign class rank, but Sophomore year I know I was in the top 10% for my school (and probably still am) because we took a special test.
I’m president of Environmental Club and have been in National Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta for junior and senior year.
I’ve tutored in Spanish through NHS for the past 2 years and have gotten the Bronze award on the National Spanish Exam twice and the Superior honors award twice (Superior honors was Freshman/Sophomore year)
I ride horses and compete, and I also work on and off at my barn.
My essays are well-written and I have solid letters of rec.

I applied Early Action to LSA, and I want to do something with environmental conservation.

What are the chances I’ll get into Ann Arbor?

Are you OOS?

In state- match/ high match
OOS - high match/low reach

You are pretty much in the middle for applicants - a little above the median for GPA (did you calculate your GPA using Michigans all A’s=4, all B’s=3 etc… scale?) , a little below for ACT. Michigan weighs GPA higher that ACT/SAT. So you have a very good chance overall, but I think it will depend on your essays. If you are in-state from a rural county or washtenaw country, or your prep school is well known that will also help you. Did you check Naviance to see the admittance rate from your school?

Some of the private prep schools have very high admission rates ~ 70% to UM because they are known to be quite rigorous (and self selection too). If you go to one of these with your stats you’d have a 90% chance.

Alright, thank you! I am out of state, but my school is known to be rigorous. The acceptance rate from my school (out of 97 apps on Naviance) is 30%, which isn’t promising, but as I said I am pretty far up for my school.
With Michigan’s GPA scale I currently have a 3.8.
