<p>Hey, I just got my acceptance letter in the mail, I was excited until I saw that I was accepted into the College of Liberal Arts. I had originally chosen to be in College of Biological Science. How can I switch to College of Biological Science? Clearly the admission people made a mistake.</p>

<p>darkwatch1…You can call the admissions office to confirm, but it’s pretty common for students who apply to either CBS or CSE whose admissions package might not be quite good enough for those colleges to be accepted into CLA instead. CBS and CSE are the two toughest colleges to get into at UMinn, and they cannot accept everyone who applies to those colleges as freshman. You could still possibly get in to CBS after you arrive at the U by attempting to transfer from CLA. You can check the UMinn website for the transfer requirements (GPA, specific classes, etc.). <p>you can always request a college change. it is not gauranteed that your request will be heeded but its worth a try. also, congrats on getting accepted! i’m still waiting to see the status on my application. when did you submit your application?</p>

<p>darkwatch - congrats on your acceptance! There are quite a few kids who transfer end up having to transfer (request a transfer) into their preferred college. It will be critical that you work with your advisor to make sure you are meeting the transfer requirements and are staying on track with your desired major.</p>
