University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

Your GPA is stellar for this school, and I believe that your test scores are right on par! And being a legacy will bolster you as a candidate even more! I think you have an amazing chance, best of luck to you! :)

Thank you for your input!! It means a lot! @ivykid4thewin‌

You’re basically a shoe-in. Chance me my link isn’t working :frowning: remember I’m a cc transfer.

Definitely, you have a 99% chance! Your GPA and scores are great along with your ACT score being in their averages. With the family legacy, that is a bonus. You’re involved in plenty of EC’s which is never frowned upon. Including the Eagle Scout achievement of yours. Colleges love to see that. Cross country is the best hahaha. You’re an overall well rounded involved student. Good luck!

I think your chances are pretty high. your act is a little on the lower end but your gpa is pretty amazing. I’d say you’ll get in easily! Good luck!

I think you have a great chance of getting in! Definitely a match or safety! You have a lot of extracurriculars and a great gpa,so that should make up for your low ACT score. Best of Luck!

Don’t worry, you’re most definitely gonna get in :D

Solid chance due to your gpa , act is a bit low but your gpa more than makes up for a slightly low score :D

Nice ECs, solid chances!
Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1710896-chances-for-getting-into-harvard-stanford-berkeley-penn-etc.html#latest

I believe that you will most likely be admitted. Of course, nothing is 100%, but based upon their admissions statistics, you fall within the range of acceptability . best of luck!

Thank you for the input!

If anyone has recently been admitted to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities could you put down the date your complete application was received, when you were admitted, and your stats? Thank you in advance!!

Bump

Accepted to U of M CBS honors program:
Send my app in early september, admitted in mid october, letter for honors at the beginning of november. Don’t stress, they have a lot of applications  (I got it in extremely early and it still took over a month to get a decision)

Thank you! @rpwehp12‌ do you think you could post your stats?

Sure :)

Act: 36
Gpa 4.00/4.85
Senior courses: british lit dual enrollment, calc bc, physics c, gov/econ (one semester each)

School: public, mid size, not super competitive
Rank: 1/300
Awards: ap scholar, natl merit

Extracurriculars: soccer, track, NHS, math team, quiz bowl, interned at the DFL this summer/fall and worked on the campaign to legalize gay marriage in MN

Legacy: Mom and Grandfather went to U, Grandfather worked there too.

I don’t know exactly which stats to post, but these were the ones on the app.

Good luck at the U! It is an awesome school. I applied to CBS but I am considering switching to CSE because I want more math/pure chemistry.

Wow that is an impressive application @rpwehp12‌

Not wanting to be a Debbie Downer, but my guess is that depending on the major you chose, they’ll accept you to CLA. You’re 100% for CLA, but the ACT is low for CBS. Let us know what you hear and when you hear it!

Yeah my English portion of the ACT killed me. I will happy to get into the U either way. Thank you for the input! @khidhala‌

does anyone know about Minnesota’s Economics program? I recently got into Econ within CLA. i know that they’re ranked at #11 for Econ on us news, but does anyone know how University of Minessota’s economics program compares to other school’s like the UCs? thanks so much!
