University of Minnesota- undecided? And how does transferring between schools work?

Decision time is approaching and I have a few questions that you guys will hopefully answer! I'm a senior in high school and have been accepted to the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota. The problem is I'm not all that interested in science and engineering. When I applied this fall I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to go into so my mom suggested I apply to the CSE (her family is big in engineering).Well now it's April and I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do with my life but I've come to the conclusion that it is not engineering. I think I would be better fit in Carlson or maybe something with biological sciences; however, it's a bit too late for that. I was considering just toughing out a year in CSE and exploring my options a little there but I've heard the workload is brutal and the courses are very challenging (plus I don't want to throw around tuition money). I don't think it would be worth all that work if I'm going to transfer to a different program anyways. Does anyone have any suggestions? What do students who are as completely undecided as I am normally do?

Call admissions and ask them but it shouldn’t be an issue transferring to CLA. The other way around would have been more difficult.

See if admissions will let you swap out now. Otherwise follow the path for the degree that interests you and transfer when you have met the transfer criteria.

we’re in the same exact situation. i was accepted to CSE, but now want to do CSOM. Called the freshman admission and they will submit a transfer request for you. i put my 2 choices as CSOM and CLA. now all i can do is to wait.
