Hey guys,

So I am currently a sophomore at Notre Dame, and I have been looking to apply to transfer to Rice. Problem is that my freshman year grades here at Notre Dame were horrible... HORRIBLE, but this past semester I had a semester GPA of a 3.6 which was a significant improvement but my cumulative is still pretty bad. Do you know of anyone who has successfully transferred in with this kind of situation? Do I even really stand a chance? I spoke to an admissions counselor there and she said that one strong semester was good enough to apply and be competitive, especially considering that I am currently at Notre Dame, and they tend to be more forgiving about freshman year which is the transition year. I applied my senior year of high school and got waitlisted, and Rice has always been my number one choice. Your thoughts? Any advice?
