@DSOF20192023 Pitt requires official test results from reporting agencies:
“Official SAT or ACT test results (SAT Essay and ACT Writing Test scores not required). Please arrange for all of your test results to be forwarded directly to Pitt from the testing agency.” https://oafa.pitt.edu/apply/admissions-process/freshmen/
So, send your scores now, it takes a couple of weeks for school’s to receive results.
My daughter was accepted to PITT for biology. She is out of state. My D has not been offered any scholarship money. Does anyone have any advice? We didn’t save enough but if she receives some money we will be able to send her. She is an A student with a 5.1 GPA. She has most AP classes as a SR and is doing well. Any advice would help. She called financial aid but was told just to wait it out. Thanks in advance
Donna, what is her ACT or SAT? That will be a big factor. I think most merit stops at 34 ACT although there are some with lower scores that get something. You will probably know in 3-4 weeks time.
I would be shocked if she didn’t receive a nice merit offer @donnamazzella . These things are sometimes unpredictable, but being out of state, $10,000 or even $15,000 per year isn’t unheard of. There are some posters from previous boards who are very knowledgeable about the factors considered for merit @carachel2 .
@Winky1, We are no longer using the Cost Analysis process. Please feel free to contact our office if you would like to discuss any questions about Scholarships: 412-624-7488.
@pansspam and @sable999, Pitt Honors will look at the two Pitt Honors questions, that is correct. We use the other three questions for admissions, scholarship, and graduate school guarantee decisions (as applicable).
@DSOF20192023, We do not ask for SAT subject tests or AP scores in the application. No need to send them over! If you are admitted to Pitt and choose to enroll here, your advisor will want to see them so they can assign you any credit where applicable.
@SG2468, Our Technology Help Desk should have sent you an email to check your application status. If you do not have that email, you can contact them 24/7 for assistance: https://www.technology.pitt.edu/
@annag8409, It will take a few business days for you to get the email. For all applications, we are currently estimating 4-6 weeks (that is a conservative estimate).
@hailtopitt1787 Hi, I was accepted into Pitt recently and I got my letter of acceptance which said I was accepted into their Pre-physical therapy major at Dietrich. I applied for the Physical Therapy Guarantee program and I was wondering if that means I got in? How long does it take to be notified of acceptance into a guarantee program after you’ve been accepted into Pitt?
I applied to Pitt on coalition on august 2nd. Have not heard back yet. Called a bunch of times, they have all the required materials, they just tell me that my application is in committee and I “should be hearing back soon.” Every time, I end up not hearing at all. My portal still says “you have no pending applications”. I call every few weeks to check on it and someone says they’ll put an inquiry on my name. Me and local admissions officers have emailed back and forth and they have repeatedly told me “sorry for the delay, it was an error on our behalf that will not affect the decision”. Pitt is one of my top schools and this whole situation is throwing me for a loop as people who applied 2 months after I did are hearing of acceptances and all that. I am hoping I will get accepted (4.3, 1500) but I guess you never know. I do not know what to think at this point in terms of when I will hear back but I just hope it’s before winter break
@caps813, Don’t worry about the portal - we do not post admissions decisions in there, so if your application is complete you don’t need to log in there to check status.
You are doing exactly the right thing checking in with our staff directly on regular intervals. I am sorry that this process has been slower for you. Please keep in touch with your local Pitt representative and we will work hard to get a decision to you as quickly as we can!
My heart just dropped, I received an acceptance letter and my button changed on my portal 3.5 weeks ago. I am hopeful to hear about a merit offer so I thought I would check my portal and my buttons are gone…has this happened to anyone else?
when you login to Pitt Mobile using ID and PW that was provided by Pitt you will see “Accept or Decline”. Click on Dashboard on the left hand site and then click Admission +. you will see Accept/Decline Admission. once you click that you will see two button Accept or Decline. At this moment it is not showing for my daughter but it was available earlier this week.
