@Successatitsbest, Hello! We don’t have a class profile for the School of Computing and Information yet because this is the first class we are admitting directly into the school as freshmen!
@hailtopitt1787 ,
D received decision and is accepted.
Had no idea about college applications initially. you have helped a lot by answering all questions patiently.
Thank you so much.
we did not hear anything about honors college or scholarships. being an OOS student, scholarship is very important to us.
D did not mention that there is a dual enrollment class in her application because at the time the she was still in the process of enrolling and had no confirmation. Now that she enrolled and it is almost close to completion of first quarter, do you think D should inform Pitt about dual enrollment? Do you think it will be helpful for honors and scholarships consideration?
Edited: if D should inform about her dual enrollment class, what should be mentioned?
Should she mention the university name with which the Math class is dual enrolled?
how about the grades so far?
Another Edit: Should she inform that she is already offered admission (she is very thankful for it) and wants the dual enrollment to be considered for honors and scholarship?
Just checked the app, buttons switched. Submitted on 10/21, application complete on 10/23;

@learning19, Congrats to your daughter! Scholarship and Pitt Honors notifications come later. Scholarship letters are going out weekly on a rolling basis as the Scholarship Committee makes decisions. The latest someone would hear if they are selected to receive a scholarship is March 1. Since your daughter met the Pitt Honors November 1 priority consideration deadline, she will hear back about Pitt Honors admission by December 15 at the latest.
And yes, if there are any changes that need to be made to her academic record please do contact our office. It could impact scholarship/honors. We also need the academic record to be as up-to-date with the courses your daughter is taking as possible because if she chooses to enroll at Pitt we will compare her academic record to her final, official high school transcript. We look for discrepancies between what she reported on her application and the transcript - so it’s best for us to have any adjustments up front! We will need to know where she is dual enrolled and the course name, and the fact that it is in progress, etc. All of the same things she reported for her other senior year classes on her self-report. No need to say she was offered admission (unless you are just excited and want to share the news, which is understandable) we will look at her record and make a note - so we will see all of that information there.
@hailtopitt1787 Do you know if the Scholarship Committee will send a notification if the applicant will NOT be receiving any merit aid? I expect my son is close, but not a shoe in for aid and that could be a difference maker for him. Since applicants are reviewed on a rolling basis, maybe if we have not heard anything by mid-December we would call?
@sable999, We only send letters to students who are selected to receive a scholarship. Mid-December is still quite early to rule yourself out - the Scholarship Committee makes decisions weekly October-February. The latest someone selected for a scholarship would hear from us is March 1.
D received email acceptance this afternoon as well. One step closer to applying to her dream GAP.

@siri0000, Our Admissions Committee asks to see grades when they need a little more information before making a final decision. Once your daughter sends her grades, her application will go straight back to Committee for review and we will send her a decision. Good luck to her!
@hailtopitt1787 Applied 10/31 and successfully logged into my.pitt.edu after activating my applicant account; however, nothing shows up when I click the “Check My Application” hyperlink.
Am I looking in the wrong place or is there any way to fix this?
My son got an email with a cute video saying he was accepted… he applied to the engineering school so I am wondering if this means he was also accepted to the engineering school? We are out of town so will have to wait for official letter to find out specifics. TIA!
My son was accepted in the Swanson School of Engineering! He applied via the Common App on Oct 9th and received the acceptance email Nov. 1st and the letter in the mail Nov 2nd. We have not been to visit yet, so excited to check it out. He is going to have some tough decisions to make!
