@mathmomvt I’m not sure what you mean by core courses. Do you mean gen eds? There are a huge number of classes that count for those so I don’t doubt there are a few honors courses in there.
My D is an economics major. There was an honors section of intro to macro when she was planning to take it, but it disappeared a couple days before course selection so she had to go into the big 300 person section. There was no honors section of intro to micro offered the term she was taking that. Her advisor did try to talk her into a course titled something like “Healthcare and the law” because she had expressed some interest in law school but she found something else that appealed to her more. I just checked the economics listing for next semester. There are two honors courses offered. One is intro to macro, and one is a senior capstone course.
I applied to Pitt on 10/28 and haven’t gotten a decision yet. In the Pitt mobile app, it says “you have no pending applications at this time.” When should I expect to hear from Pitt about a decision? Thanks!
@sla123, It can take 4-6 weeks for a student to receive an admissions decision. Though many hear back much more quickly, especially if they use Pitt’s Self-Reported Academic Record to submit their grades rather than sending a transcript - simply because it takes us much longer to receive and process a transcript.
can anyone confirm seeing the accept & decline buttons on the mobile portal/app for sure mean ive got in? i saw them first yesterday. i got super excited and told my mom i got in, but now im worried that maybe i jumped the gun and i still might’ve been rejected ):
I received the admission video from Pitt yesterday!

@hailtopitt1787 ,
D received admitted student day information.
OOS and it becomes a 2 day trip.
due parents work schedule, D may not be able to attend that day.
if D is not able to attend, should she inform Pitt?
Is this optional program for admitted students and is it okay to miss it?
what would be typical program schedule on that day?
will there be more admitted student days scheduled in future and can D attend one of those? Will Pitt automatically send invite to future dates or should D reach out?
Admitted Student Days are not mandatory at all - and we will have more dates in the spring!
A typical schedule includes a visit to the academic school/college your student was admitted to, tours of campus and the city of Pittsburgh, an opportunity to talk to student affairs staff and others about career services, residence life, etc.

I applied to Upitt using commonapp on 11/9. Hopefully I will receive my Pitt ID number in next couple of days. I would like to get clarify on the following points.
Before submitting the Upitt commonapp I have linked my SRAR account with commonapp id (CAID) for UPitt on the srar website. Is this enough or do I need to submit SRAR again with Pitt ID number? It is not clear on how to submit SRAR with commonapp.
I opted for Pre-Medicine in commonapp to be considered for the School of Medicine’s GAP and also completed the required Short Answer Questions. If shortlisted for GAP what other supplemental information need to be submitted in addition?
@nicole2023, We encourage applicants to wait for official notification from us (letter/email) to confirm whether or not they have been admitted to Pitt. However, from what you are telling me that you are seeing - I think you will hear from us very soon!
