@hailtopitt1787 Do you have any insight about this? Thank you.
Hi there! My son submitted his mid-year grades January 17th and still hasn’t heard anything from Pitt yet. Has anyone who submitted mid-year grades recently heard back yet? His app only has an accept/decline button for Pitt Greensburg, not Pitt main. He applied to both, but prefers Pitt main. Does anyone have a sense of how long this takes? Anxiously waiting! Thanks!
If I am understanding correctly, it seems like your son has been admitted to Pitt Greensburg. Did the Admissions Committee request his mid-year grades or did he just upload them on his own? You can also contact your Enrollment Services Manager and they will be able to expand on this: https://oafa.pitt.edu/esm_directory.php
@hailtopitt1787 Thanks for the quick response. He applied to both Main campus and Greensburg. He was accepted to Greensburg last fall. Pitt main requested his midyear grades for consideration to main campus. He submitted the midyear grades both through SRAR and also his high school sent them. Admissions at Pitt main said that his file was sent back to the admissions committee on January 22nd. We still haven’t heard any news yet. Do you have suggestions? Thank you.
@Indiana6, okay got it. Well, unfortunately, students who have been asked for mid-year grades have to re-enter the review process which is taking anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks at the moment due to the high volume of applications/mid-year grade submissions. During our slower times it can be sooner but currently, there is a high volume of applications and our Admissions Committee is doing their best to make quick but thorough decisions.
@hailtopitt1787 Thank you for letting me know this information. Could you please let me know how he will be notified, either way? People on this thread are talking about app buttons, email and letters in the USPS mail. Could you please let me know what this process is and what we can be looking for on our end once a decision is reached? Thanks again.
@indiana6, he will be notified via e-mail and regular mail. We do not use “buttons” to notify our admits of the decision, I think this term refers to the accept/decline buttons seen on psmobile.pitt.edu, but it is not an actual indicator of whether a student has been admitted or not. Just keep an eye out for an e-mail or snail mail from us and contact our team if you have any more questions 412-624-7488.
@Indiana6 So the buttons appear on the Pitt passport app. If you have it, there should be a tab that says “Admissions”. If you click on it, another tab should drop down that says “Accept/Decline Admissions”. Click on that, and that’s where you would see the “accept” and “decline” button as well as the term and school ( ex: Dietrich Sch Arts and Sciences - Term: Fall 2019-2020).
@hailtopitt1787 Hi, who do I contact to alert a high school class change? I have already been accepted but have decided to change a class in my second semester.
@deceptibot, it is not required but you can update your SRAR if you’d like. You can also call our office to inform one of the processors of this change.
I originally applied back in September and got a letter requesting mid-year grades…I sent my mid-year grades on 1/29 and my buttons on the app just changed yesterday @G_2019LAG
Hello,
I recieved my acceptance letter and law guarantee today and I am very excited, but I was wondering if it is odd that I still have not heard back from honors. Additionally, I turned in the application before 1/15 was over PST but on my application it seems to say I turned it in on 1/16. Is there any place where I can check if they are considering me for honors? Thanks.
@hailtopitt1787 Hi again, I’m reading posts from students that have received notifications about acceptance that have submitted mid-year grades a couple weeks after my son submitted his and we haven’t heard anything yet. Does this process go in date order? Could you please advise? Thank you.
@Indiana6 Sure! So when I first sent in the application, I downloaded the PS Mobile app and for the longest time it said “No Pending Application” because my mid-year grades had been requested. Then, the other day, I logged in and it said “Select either the Accept or Decline button to indicate your choice”. Under that was a banner saying “Dietrich Sch Arts and Sciences” and under that the term number said “Fall term 2019-2020” and then my application number. I then have the option to press either accept or decline the admission offer, and now I’m just waiting on an official letter or email to confirm I’m in before I do anything. Hope this helped!
