Ok TY! We are hoping for some merit.
Thanks for the info. My daughter has very similar stats, and completed the two essays… She applied early October to the School of Computing and was accepted two weeks later. Hoping for some merit too!
Merit is separation from application
Thanks, so much. I did let her know what I learned on the forum. She had assumed she would receive an email if there was an issue. She figured out her Pitt portal and, it turns out, there was a message letting her know they were waiting for her test scores. (Unfortunately, her test date was cancelled 4x thanks to COVID, so she had to go in and select test optional.) She did get confirmation her app was updated. So, it’s just a matter of wait and see.
Thanks, again, everyone. And best of luck to your students.
Yay! My daughter got her buttons today! We are very excited for her. She applied 10/17, test scores received 10/22. Dietrich. Keeping fingers crossed for a bit of merit $. Good luck everyone!
My daughter got her merit scholarship for 10K a year. Very excited!
@DaisyW: congrats!
How many days after the button change, does one get the snail or e-mail?
after 9.5 weeks my daughter finally got her buttons
@engDad63 have your daughter email her representative if she hasn’t yet. I think that was what helped set my daughter’s application on the right path. good luck!
@phlped Finally! So happy to hear!!
Congratulations- did her merit letter come separate from her acceptance letter? Can you share her stats?
@Cayla2021 different situation because my daughters application was complete for months. I have seen other posters who said after application complete they’ve heard quickly like 1-2 weeks… good luck!
@ftttre Our merit letter came about 3 weeks after acceptance letter.
Omg - my kid got the buttons today! Applied 10/16 to Dietrich. 1380 SAT with 3.7 unweighted gpa & upward grade trend. Out of state. Thank you for all the info here on this thread. Looking forward to getting official notification.
@engDad63 Ugh, your daughter’s situation is so frustrating. But I really don’t think it’s her SAT score so try not to worry about that. My kid’s was in same range and buttons just appeared.
Hello everyone, I submitted my application about 3 weeks ago and haven’t heard back yet. Did everyone receive an email with the Pitt portal info? I don’t think I received such an email. Also, what are the buttons everyone is talking about?
You should receive an email to activate account for the portal. Check your spam mail.
@hailtopitt1787 is a Pitt’s admission representative here and should be able to help you.
I think you can contact Pitt’s Admission Processors for help with application process. The info is here:
https://admissions.pitt.edu/processors/
I checked my spam and then created my pitt portal. But what are the buttons everyone is talking about?
Thank you so much for your help! @ttb1263
First check to make sure that you have all checklist items completed and sent in (SRAR and test scores if you plan to use for admission review) then you would wait for admission office to review.
From what we experienced with my D’s admission process and from this thread, if Pitt accept and admit you then you should see in in Pitt PSMobil >Admissions >Accept/Decline Admission the following:
- School name (Dietrich, Swanson, etc …)
- Plan/Major
- Term
- Application Number
- Accept and Decline buttons
Within a few days you should also receive admission postal mail and email.
Good luck !!!
