Hey, just thought I’d make one of these, since I couldn’t find one around!
My app moved to step four! Is anyone else on four? Is step five when we get our decisions or…?
I think step 5 is decision.
my son is still on step 2. he also applied GEAR program. Is that suppose to have interview in Feb for finalists?
I’m confused. I submitted my app weeks ago, but it’s still not showing up as submitted in the MyRoc account. @xiaosp I believe there’s an interview sometime in the beginning of the year. I’m not positive, though.
What does it mean by “strongest consideration for merit and admission” if you apply before Dec. 1? How much less is the consideration if you apply after?
I submitted my CommonApp recently (about a week ago) and have had a MyRoc account for ages but never moved beyond step 1 for some odd reason, even though I completed step 1 months ago. What should I do? Do I have to complete all steps before the deadline mentioned on CommonApp?
@Suj170499 No, you definitely don’t have to complete all of the steps, as that’s not in your control. The different steps show who is currently reading your application. Step one just means they haven’t started reading it yet. I would wait until after holiday break is over and see if it changes to step two then. It could be you submitted your app just as the admissions department was going on break. If a few days after break go by and you are still on step one, I might email admissions. They are very prompt and helpful in their responses. One other thing to check would be to make sure all of the boxes under items are checked that you think should be checked.
Does anyone know when the decisions for RD or GEAR come out? I know the official date is April 1, but is it usually before that?
My son is still on step 2 does it help with Admission Decisions if he won an award in his Jr. High School Year from URoc? Also, will decisions come out earlier since the FAFSA opened earlier?
GEAR finalist shall be come out in Jan since the interview is on Feb 13-14. My son is in step 4 now.
I just received an email inviting me to have a family or community member fill out a letter of recommendation. Do you guys think it would be worth having a family member fill out to show additional interest in the college or will it not add a significant amount to my application?
If they’re requesting it, I would send it.
@DuelingGloves - I also recommend sendING it, but I prefer community letter. Don’t yu participate in any outside activities like sports, volunteer, robotics or even religious?
@srk2017 I do, however I don’t feel like the sponsors of the activities I am involved in would provide any new information outside of my teacher and counselor recommendations. I feel like having four letters describing me as hardworking and responsible would be redundant in a way.
@DuelingGloves - I agree with your opinion, but school is the one that’s requesting additional LOR, so better to comply. My DS’s coach submitted LOR and he is already in step 4.
@srk2017 okay, thank you for your assistance!
@srk2017 : what are the steps after 2nd one?
@DBPrincess - I believe Step 3 is second reader and Step 4 is admissions committee and outcome is the final step.
guys , the university hasn’t matched my common app with my roc account yet ??? I am really worried what should i do
