University of South Carolina Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

Is the NMF guaranteed and when do they need to put SC as 1st choice, if you happen to know?

Capstone plus $2k Merit scholarship for my dd. In state, also has palmetto fellows but choosing another school due to major.

DD Capstone and $22k/yr in merit scholarshipā€¦hard to pass up

I donā€™t know the answer to either of those questions. Good questions!

Are dorms individual bedrooms or shared suites?

Same here - hard to beat UNC in-state in my humble opinion- but DS22 wants to go away. So in state tuition plus scholarship makes it about the same price as UNC for us. Heā€™s submitted his deposit and weā€™ll visit next weekend to be sure.

In-state tuition + $500/year. No Capstone. Visiting in two weeks.

Got nice scholarship but no capstone. Sibling was capstone. Dorm is fun and social - She didnā€™t do any opportunities outside of living in the dorm so not sure capstone is a huge thing but still a little bummed. Excited about SC nonetheless!!

Son got another $2k/yr on top of the HC and in-state tuition heā€™d been offered earlier (as OOS from PA). In terms of financials itā€™s hard to beat.
Now waiting to hear from Elon regarding their Business Fellows program ā€“ these are the last two in the running.

No merit email for my OOS daughter. I hope theyā€™re sending them out on a rolling basis. Iā€™d find it hard to swallow if she got no merit at all. Weā€™d have to pivot if so. That would be heartbreaking.

Anyone else still waiting?

D got Honors College and Alumni Scholarship of 8k per year + Palmetto fellow for in state which could be another 36k over 4 years. She is leaning towards UGA or UF.

Son was offered Capstone and same scholarship that was in admission letter (equivalent to instate plus $500) plus an additional $500 with capstone. Itā€™s a great offer but I think heā€™s leaning towards Virginia Tech.

We received the scholarship email last night. Academic Scholar-Merit Award recipient. $500 cash + $9696/year tuition reduction. When she was first admitted to SC, no scholarship was mentioned, which was disappointing. If it had been mentioned earlier, it would have been a serious consideration. Instead, my daughter kind of eliminated SC from consideration based on cost value vs other admission offers sheā€™s received. Two weeks ago, we flew to SC to visit Clemson and decided not to even visit SC. We had to make decisions based on the information we had at the time, which was no scholarship. So, I think this comes too late for her. Sheā€™s already moved on in her head to other schools. Shame, though, because itā€™s a great school and a great financial opportunity.

Where does it talk about an additional $500 for capstone? My DD got instate plus $500 from merit and also Capstone but I do not see any mention of an extra $500.

Son OOS received 500 cash and 9696 a year tuition reduction. Helps but price is still a little to high for this out of stater.

My son was offered an additional $500 (on top of his previous scholarship offer) in his Capstone acceptance letter.

are you receiving the scholarship email at you personal email address or at your UofSC email address?

It came to the email he has been using for the admissions process. There was an update listed in the admissions portal.

We were offered that as well. My DS loves SC but even with that merit offer, it is pricey when compared to the offer he received from Auburn. Not sure SC is worth that much more.
