I’m in love with USC and will do everything I can to get accepted so I just wanted to know what anyone thought of my chances and specifically what I can do to improve my application. I’m currently a junior
I know the most important thing is to improve throughout your high school years and I believe I have. Freshmen year I got As, Bs and 1 C in Math. Sophomore year I got all Bs and a B in math. Junior year I’m hoping to get all As including senior year as well. And I’m gonna get tutored for the SAT and ACT. I’m hoping to get a real good score that can maybe be an advancement for me within my application. I’m also really involved I’ve done a few sports and clubs. I’ve been president for one of the clubs as well. And I’ve done a lot of community service. I’m also Hispanic.
Please tell me my chances and if so, what I can improve the most! Thank you.

You want your Stats at or above the average for the best chances.
Getting all B’s Sophomore year does not look too promising, so you really need to ramp things up and work on getting all A’s Junior year.
Yes, that’s what I’m aiming for!! Thank you!!
@etorres I hope you realize that your race does not play a factor at USC. Affirmative Action has been outlawed in every higher education institution in California for the greater part of 20 years. Needless to say, I think that if you work hard to get your grades up, and get a 2100-2200 on the SAT (32-33 for ACT) you’ll have a solid shot.
@michelle426 Actually, that only applies to public schools in CA. USC is a private school and is therefore free to utilize affirmative action, which it does.

However, I still agree that the OP’s chances aren’t too promising after receiving all Bs in his (her) sophomore year.
@michelle426 Thank you! I realize that my race may not play a factor but I believe it might with some schools. I’m trying to aim high with my SAT or ACT. Working towards a high average for my junior year.
@AnEpicIndian I understand that it might lose my chance but if I give a higher average junior year it does show some kind of progression. As well as a high SAT or ACT score. Hoping for the best!
