Hello everyone,
I have aspired to attend the University of Texas at Austin all my life… I got rejected last year as a high school senior with a 3.5 gpa. However, this year i am attending ACC (Austin Community College) and I would like to take the path with the benefit of the doubt:
I would like to attend ACC for one year (about ~28-30 semester hours) and transfer to UT undecided major. I already know I want to major in Computer Science but I know being it is the hardest to get to admitted to UT rather than switching majors, so why not just get admitted to Undecided then after a year or so transfer to your intended major?
I would like to get your thoughts and if this is a completely acceptable route?
Thanks,
Chris
Internal transfers are pretty much just as difficult for comsci as external, unfortunately. They just do not have the room for a lot of people. My friend in PACE did get in last year, with a 4.0, which isn’t difficult to do at ACC. You should try to transfer in externally, because the last thing you want to do is go undeclared and then not get into comsci and be stuck in another major you don’t care for (unless there are other majors you are considering as a second choice) however, I would recommend talking to your ACC counselor.
Good luck!

Your plan will most likely not work. Apply as transfer student directly to CS, it is better chance, if you have As in Math and Science classes.
