Do you think it means anything the later we hear back? For instance, if a batch of acceptances goes out this Friday and I don’t hear back, do you think it is more likely that I will be rejected?
Hey guys… Noticed on my “MyStatus” page, under the “Honors Programs” tab, the only program listed is the Engineering honors program.
This seems odd, as I am a first choice Physics major, and - obviously - applied to the Honors Nat. Sciences program (which is no longer listed.) (My second-choice major is MechE) If anyone else has had this happen and could offer any insight, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
My guess is that you did not get your first choice major (Physics) and you are now being considered for Engineering Honors. Did you apply for Engineering Honors or just Natural Sciences Honors? What does MyStatus say about your major?
@chocoturtles you got in and you were top40%? what was your sat? i’m worried because im around the same, a little higher. and my SAT is 2090 (1450 composite) with 790 math level 2.
has college of natural sciences already sent out acceptances?
@Chamomile7 Way to imagine the universe revolves around you!
nvm
I guess I’ll address this to @PastePotPete and @Longhorn061012 since they seem to have some idea of the inner workings of the admissions office … what percentage of decisions have been released so far?
@PastePotPete Be nice.
I called the admissions office and the man I spoke to said that decisions are being released tomorrow? Has anyboddy heard anything else?
@BellaBean2 wait really?
Uh, no. I have one child who has already been admitted, so I do see the benefit of UT informing people early. However, I also see the impact on others who are waiting on the edge of their seats, because they don’t know when they’ll hear. I have another child is in that position. Most top schools release all decisions on one date–even very large schools. This has to be possible for UT too, though maybe things are especially tricky because of the complexities of auto-admit.
@BellaBean2 did you call today?
5% of admissions were released since the dec.16th date according to the admissions office.
Only 5%?? So the big wave must be this and next Friday. Part of me tells myself not to look at my phone until Friday but I can’t help it
Most Texas state schools don’t do that and yes it could have something to do with auto admits, but UT also has individual colleges do Admissions. So if McCombs or Cockrell want to send out their offers, they are not going to care if UGS or COLA aren’t done. They don’t want to lose high achieving students to Ivy Leagues just so the other students don’t feel bad about themselves
its alright, most of us check every few hours even though to no avail
@vs1997 Did you ask admissions for the % or
If you are accepted, does the “congratulations” banner pop up immediately or do you have to click on “details” of your freshman application to see if you are accepted?
@ayyemichelle a friend emailed admissions on how many were released at the time and they said only 5%. they released very few here and there after the dec.16th wave just to test their system. the next ones will either be after tomorrow or next friday, but that will be the last.
