University of Texas--Austin Admissions

No they don’t release all acceptances and then all rejections… they release by school. I’m communications and OOS and if I dont hear by 10 ET, I’m going to email her again…

congrats to everyone who got accepted today! has anyone gotten financial aid or scholarship info yet or have an estimate about when it’ll be released because they’ve telling me to check back after 2 weeks for a while now.

@balletgal19 Are they sending out decisions even after admissions office has closed? Thank you for the information by the way!

I got an email today about my status. If anyone was wondering if they sent you a email or not…

Last year it seemed that the actual schools (Business, etc) released their admission notices in groups. So there would be engineering kids getting announcements, then business, then science (going off of people reporting on social media, this forum, etc)… They release the status’ late also. I think my son’s was posted between 8 and 10pm last year. Not sure of the time, but it was late. My daughter, on the other hand, got hers today at 1:00.

2370 SAT, 800 SAT II Math, 750 SAT II Physics, Rank 7/600 at a competitive in state high school

Denied entrance into electrical engineering. Should i appeal?

Got rejected from McCombs (accepted via auto-admit)…4.0 unweighted, 1990 SAT, 12 out of 632 students (top 2%), good ECs, all that…I have to admit, I’m a little surprised. I knew UT did not automatically grant admission into majors, but I didn’t realize it was THIS tough. Thank god I have other options!

My daughter just got an email to check her status in the last half hour so they’re definitely still sending out decisions. Hang in there, if you’re still waiting. My daughter was accepted into Aerospace Engineering. 35 ACT, 3.95 GPA.

I made a results thread. Please post info there so everything can stay organized http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-texas-austin/1743860-ut-austin-class-of-2019-results-thread.html

I’ve seen several people who have gotten their decisions from biology and business. Still haven’t seen many computer science majors so I’m guessing the department hasn’t released a lot of their decisions yet

Yooo is Moody the communication school bc #confused

@literio28 yeah moody is the communications school

Got into computer science with 2000 SAT. International student from Turkey.

DS Rejected, OOS act 33 IBDC, AP scholar with distinction, GPA 3.9. School doesn’t weigh GPA so top 12% sort of rank . Would have IBD and 9 APs by end of year. Applied chem eng with chemistry as 2nd choice. No second choice offered. Wasn’t going to attend anyway but LOL, the system is really interesting looking at the accepted stats. Is there a lot of shuffling in the first year? Is weed out significant?

I wasn’t accepted, but I was placed on the waitlist and offered admission to a PACE or CAP. UT has always been the dream so I’ll be attending there (if the waitlist doesn’t work out, which is very likely) through the PACE program. Does anybody know if we get banners too? Lol, I know, stupid thing to worry about but jw.
1920 SAT, top 20% at a competitive high school (248/1256)

I think applying from an underrepresented country helps a lot.

@solm90 International students compete with other international students for admission at UT, so you were just better than everyone else in some way!

has anyone been accepted into the architecture school? i applied in october and i still haven’t heard anything.

@skdoss I am the prophet. Believe in the Pikachu.

@DZhang526 Cockrell does a holistic review. Comes down to your ECs, leadership, and essays. They don’t weigh scores and grades too much since many competitive applicants apply. I guess you could appeal
