I was accepted to the computer science there and I was wondering if I should accept. I was thinking about going to UW instead after I transfer because I was rejected in my freshman application. Does anyone know on how good it is, specifically in computer science and other engineering majors? Is it worth the cost?

A couple of points.

Do not go to UoP unless all of the tuition cost can be covered without using student loans. Uop does have a matching program for FASFA where they basically match whatever FASFA gives you, but thats still not enough to cover the very high tuition, and I am a local resident! Student loans will pile up high and a friend who completed a bio degree there has a huge student debt loan he is paying off, and he could not find a job with his bio degree so he ended up going to delta college to become an RN. In fact, Delta college has an atriculation agreement and you can save half of the cost by going there for the first 2 years. Delta tuition is really cheap, but so no dorms you gotta get a place to stay on your own. If you do go to delta, make sure to get Barker for most of your math classes and Perez for your CS courses.

As far as the CS program, UoP offered me some specialty degrees like a gaming degree, where I learn about all sorts of different things in the gaming industry, but not a strong focus on core fundamentals of CS. It is important to note that may have changed since I went there. I never finished either, so I may not be a fair judge of the program either, but they do have a co-op program, with some decent companies as well.

Stockton is a hole. Not much to do here except maybe the swenson golf course and going to a handful of bars to drink.

My daughter is impressed by the Campus, and the attitude of the students. For her, it is between Seattle U and Pacific. Both seem to have stong Chemistry programs.

I am going there next year but I was offered over $20,000 a year in scholarships. So yeah if the tuiton isn’t a problem and you’re okay with Stockton go for it. And to the guy who has a friend with the bio degree, just a BS in biology is pretty well known for having terrible job prospects.
