Can anybody tell us more about the school. We are from out of state. I know it is in/near Burlington. I have seen Burlington a few years ago. It is a nice city.

I know that for oos this school is expensive for a state school, but it is the size of a private, hence a trade off.

How large are 101 classes, any $ for oos? Last year I read scholarships were around $2,000 for oos. Is that about it for merit? What about need based for oos?

How is the business school?

All info is much appreciated.

uvm is in burlington, i dont know that much about it, but the campus is really pretty... burlington is deff a nice town to go to college in... but its not a city, so there are less oportunities there. the uvm library is great, the dorms are livable. its a lot harder to get in from out of state, so there are all types of students there, from the local ski bums, to the kids who live in the hidden alcoves of the library. also its somewhat of a party school. sorry thats about all i knwo (i used to live in burlington) good luck!

Burlington /is/ a city and is a quite nice one. It is filled with things to do and it is a really difficult place to get bored, especially during warmer weather.

UVM accepts almost 80% of applicants, but it's much harder to get in from out-of-state. I have never heard anything about their business school and can't imagine there being many business internship opportunities in the area. They only have one business major, but you can pick your own concentration. Their School of Business Administration's website is at http://www.bsad.uvm.edu/home/.

I can tell you that UConn has the best public School of Business in New England and one of the top twenty in the country, plus they are far more selective (50%) yet much easier to get in as an out-of-state student, so you might want to consider it. Drawbacks would be an increase in size (though really not too bad) and a rural location, though only 30 minutes from Hartford and Providence and 15-20 from major shopping and entertainment areas.

beginning, thanks for suggesting UConn. It is on our list. As far as business internships I don't care if there are any in Vermont; as long as son can get one where we live. Do you know anything else about the business school?

We liked UConn, but it seems a little too big and impersonal, so I we are not sure about it as a good fit.

Still would like any info anyone else could contribute about the University of Vermont, especially about the business dept. I would also like to know how large the 101 classes are and any info on $ for oos students. Thanks.

Any other ppl with knowledge about U of Vermont (esp. business school and size of 101 classes)?
