In regards to financial aid: is it just the FAFSA and CSS profile that we fill out, or is there an additional application?
Edit: also, I just logged onto my SIS account, and where there was before a green check mark saying complete for my application, there is now a yellow triangle and it says incomplete?
Anyone else have this? Anyone know what it means?( I have everything checked off except my midterm grades, same as everyone else)
My daughter just checked and she also has the incomplete yellow triangle, but I am not sure there was ever a green check that said complete, now that you mention it. When she called and also on their website it says that the mid-years will continue to show as missing…so maybe that’s why?
@c011e9e and @collegemomjam … I’m an OOS applicant and just checked my SIS account. I also had the green check, but now it is the yellow triangle. The only thing that I know of that’s incomplete is the mid-year grades so not too sure what the triangle is for.
I just looked at the link that the Dean posted in #16. It actually discusses how you withdraw your application if you were admitted ED somewhere else, but in the sample screen it happens to show a screen with a little yellow triangle so we are assuming that that is the way it is supposed to look!
The symbols are about where the file is sitting in the system. There’s nothing you can do about them and it would cost us a ton of money to customize SIS to get rid of them. Just focus on the to-do list. If the MY report is the only thing left on your to-do list, you’re done for now!
Does anyone know if UVA sends an email confirming that you’re in the Early Action pool? I had to get an email from another college telling me I was placed in regular decision because some materials arrived late and I want to make sure I’m in the Early Action pool for UVA.
The last time we were able to release decisions in December, we had 2,500 early apps. If memory serves, that was in 2009.
Last year, we had just under 17,000 early apps, so the review takes A LOT longer these days. Releasing in December would mean taking some shortcuts in the review with which I (and probably you all) wouldn’t be comfortable.
If you are seeing December or early January dates being posted anywhere, please let me know so I can correct people who are sharing incorrect info or you can just point them to the application instructions. We cover the time in the “Early Action vs. Regular Decision” section.
