As a parent, I appreciate the transparency of the statistics in advance (we are OOS, so a bit tougher odds which prepares the mind).
Having said that, have you heard any of the low key chatter about changing National Decision Day to 6/1? With the government asking to travel only when necessary, it will be hard to make decisions on schools that maybe the student has not seen in awhile. Would be nice to have a little more time so that once travel is a bit safer, we can do some final visits. (be them official or not since tours are cancelled). Would love to understand your thoughts on this topic. Thank you.
Dean J, how would you know that the Wait List offer rate is 17%? You can’t be referring to the RD Wait list so what Wait List are you referring to? Thanks
I could be totally wrong but what I thought that meant is that 17% of the RD pool (so: RD applicants, ED deferred, and EA deferred) will be offered a spot on the waitlist when they open their portals

Rejected OOS. Major: Political Science. 4.3 GPA, 7 APs, extensive ECs. Really surprised as I’ve gotten into schools with a lower acceptance rate. I understand that there are so many other factors- but I’m still disappointed.

Yes, I think knowing the date in advance is helpful. We were banking on April 1 or the end of March. My son just sent an update today to the admissions counselor about updated grades, awards he won winter season, etc. I don’t know if those bits of information would have made any difference, but having a timeline helps organize expectations and tasks.
I’m having the same feelings. I haven’t seen one person get accepted. oh well. But congrats on WashU!!
So when they say the waiting list offers were 17%, is that 17% of all 41,017 who applied (meaning there are 6973 kids on the waitlist)? 9 people were selected from the waitlist last year.

imagine getting waitlisted at both Cal Poly SLO and UVA and applying to ivies and other t15s. BRUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. imma get rejected from all of those now.
