really hoping this doesn’t stretch into July!
I called on Friday and they said they would finish sending them out by the 30th but at this point I feel like they’re just telling us things to get us to stop calling
An admissions specialist verbally confirmed my acceptance late last week, though they can’t update the portal until they receive my updated transcript. At this point, I’m worried that the classes I need are going to be completely filled. I’ve dug through the course offerings for fall, and there are 4 200 level classes I need to finish prereqs for my intended majors.
I’ve planned out several course scenarios for the next two years to complete a double major in poli sci and communications, as well as a minor in LSJ, and if I’m not able to take at least 3 of the 4 classes this fall quarter, I’ll be totally screwed for graduating in 2 years. 1 is already full, and 2 are dangerously close.
All I can hope is that I get a couple really awesome advisors who can get me in to already filled classes in the autumn, or my entire educational plan is completely effed.

I called today to see what was going on and the lady pretty much dismissed me. She said they’re using a new system and that a handful of applicants are going to be affected. But they have “no set date” she said definitely by the end of July but that doesn’t help anyone because that is so vague. But literally no matter what question I asked her she just responded with “were using a new system and yadda yadda …”. This experience is making me soooo frustrated !!! Has anyone heard anything about housing?
I called this morning and spoke to a guy who told me that they just started reviewing my application today. This is crazy I can’t believe they just now looked at it. They have no accountability whatsoever. They keep telling me to ask my other schools to extend deadlines but they can’t even tell me when to extend it to. At this point I think I just have to move on and go to nyu.
I too called earlier at 9 o’ clock, and this nice lady recommended that I email them at askuwadm@uw.edu with name and DOB. She didn’t even bother looking up my file in the system, obviously dodging responsibility and buying time. I knew I wasn’t gonna get anything so I just said thanks and ended the call. Meanwhile, you guys seemed to have gotten the more accommodating reps.
after getting rejected from all of my top schools I really thought UW would be the one, but now I’m thinking I’ll have to attend my backup.
Hey guys got into UW Seattle on the 27th at around like 9PM, got my acceptance letter the following Monday (the 1st of July) I checked my portal randomly and it said congratulations! The following morning my unofficial transcript loaded! I paid the AOE and signed up for my orientation on Monday the 8th!
Congratulations to you @jnguyen0622 ! Hope you have lots of fun attending the school!
called again this morning and they said decisions would be released this week. He said a couple hundred students haven’t received their decision, and if no updates are made by Friday that I should call again.
portal updated this evening - rejected :’( 3.6 GPA cc student from California. I enrolled at UC Davis but i’m considering staying 1 more semester at my community college and applying again for winter quarter
If UW is your dream I say go for it!
I was also rejected. I’m from a California cc with a 3.51. You can call to schedule an appointment to ask why your decision was made and the lady I talked to told me that Washington residents have about a 65% chance and out of state applicants have an 18% chance. Praying for grad school although I’m going to call and find out if the rates are the same for that as well… could just be worth it to go to Seattle University instead and Go there for grad school if the same acceptance rates are used as well.

@baaayyyylalala thank you for this, I’ll definitely give them a call soon. Good luck!
Sorry to those rejected. I believe you’ll succeed no matter where you go.
As for me, after agonizing deliberation and much discussion with my parents, I’ve decided to turn down my offer to attend UW and go to UCSB instead. For me it came down to the cost mostly, as out of state tuition is too much for me. However, I think my future lies in Seattle and I’m going to apply for grad school at UW, and probably later make Seattle my home and find a career there in the future.
I hope my spot goes to a deserving appealer or person on the waitlist.
@baaayyyylalala, you should be aware that Seattle U gives a high preference to in-state transfers as well. Further, based on the numbers they gave me when I was admitted, they’ve only accepted around 20% of total transfer applicants this year. I’m not trying to burst any bubbles, just offering my experience as someone that was accepted.
Just got accepted after a rollercoaster of a ride. Stats: 4.0 gpa with 25 credits at time of application So happy rn
I’m attending UCSB! What’s your orientation day/major?
Awesome! Thursday Aug 15, Statistics major @beatrees
