unlike most of you, simply average...

So, I'm new here. I feel like I know nothing, feeling rather unambitious compared to the rest of you. But, I am still interested in your insights and would be very grateful if you could provide them.

Stats:

competitive public high school in California (...which may have played a part in crushing my prior academic drive haha...) We consistently get our fair share of alumni going to Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc. each year, as well as many who fall back on UC's.

top 10% last time I checked (includes junior year, first semester grades)

GPA: 3.78/4.27

SAT: 2220 (math: 750, critical reading: 730, writing: 740)

SAT subjects: 770 math II, 740 physics (I was retarded and assumed formulas would be given), 740 biology (I really wish I had taken chem after that AP course sophomore year...argh)

AP's: biology, chemistry, physics B, English language, world history, U.S. history (5's in everything except for U.S., which was a 4)
senior year AP's: physics C, calculus BC, English lit., econ macro/micro
also took honors courses but w/e

EC's (this is where I worry...feels like there will be a lot of blank space on my application):
math club - four years, vice president as sophomore/junior, now president
CSF (peer tutoring thing) - three years
honor and service society for my school - two years
fencing - sophomore, one year
marine science bowl - sophomore, one year

I probably have more EC's but they're insignificant enough for me not to recall them at the moment. I'm wondering what the admissions will think when they see all these bits and pieces of EC's that I didn't continue doing...

So, my schools. I'll admit that I haven't done much research and I'm basically only looking at UC's right now. I have an older brother who will be a junior at UCLA if that makes a difference. So tell me, how many of the following should I apply to (obviously I'll apply to less if my chances are good enough).

UC...
Berkeley
Los Angeles
San Diego
Davis
Irvine
Santa Barbara
Santa Cruz

If you guys have any ideas for a girl who wants to go into sciences (particularly chemical engineering or pharmacy), your suggestions for colleges would be much appreciated. As for recommendations, I know I can get a very good one from my math teacher, as I've been in good contact with him for all my high school years.

Thanks very much in advance!

You're not "average" if you get a 2220 on the SATs and have a good shot at the majority of the UCs.

I'm failing to see why you consider yourself simply average.
I don't think you need to worry about your EC's. You show growth in leadership positions, and were involved in a substansial amount of activities.

I think you are a good candidate for any of the UC's.
You said you are looking for other suggestions. What kind of school are you looking for? Large? Small? Urban? Rural? What kind of student body are you looking for? All important questions to ask during the college search.

chemical engineering or pharmacy? UCSD. And you are definitely qualified for UCSD. I say you are on par with UCLA and berkeley as well.
