Unrestricted elective?

Hey,

I will be attending UCD next year for electrical engineering, and I looked at the recommended class schedule for 2006. I would think there wouldn’t be any major changes from 2006 to 2007, so I’m basing my class schedule on this. I see under Fall quarter that I can choose a “unrestricted elective.” Does this mean I can take any class I want or something?

P.S. Another question: I qualify for Cal Grant A, so I went to Sisweb and then the Accept or decline Awards page. However I don’t see a link or button where I accept the Cal Grant. Does this mean I don’t have to do anything more to get this grant?

Thanks

What are unrestricted electives?

You may count as an unrestricted elective any course for which University credit is allowed. Unrestricted electives are included in some, but not all, engineering curricula.

Topic bump because I have a similar question:

Can you apply units from a community college class as an unrestricted elective or does it have to be a class taken at UCD? Thanks :D

Also: Does it have to be upper div?

in those recommended class schedules, i’m fairly sure “unrestricted elective” means ANY class. the definition yarold posted seems like it would mean that as well. so that means, any class.
you don’t NEED to take these by the way, all you really NEED to do is fulfill your college requirements and degree requirements
