So, it seems that many here have not been accepted into the University Park campus (and cheers to those who did). A large amount of those who were rejected from UP seem to not want to attend Penn State anymore after that decision.

But what about those who do?

For whats its worth Altoona (or however you spell it) is full. That was going to be the campus I would have attended, but my college counselor foolishly marked York campus as my second choice.

So whats left? What are the other prime options?

Yes, Behrend/Erie's a very nice campus offering up to masters degrees, and possibly beyond now. Also, Capitol Campus is decent as well. Mont Alto's sposed to be a great place if you like the outdoors. Beaver's ok for a year or 2.

Select a campus, then go to section "F. Student Life." That section shows the percent of students from out of state and the percent that live in college-owned, -operated, or -affiliated housing. It gives you an idea of which ones are more like a UP versus a comuter college. For example, Erie has 7% from outside PA and 45% live in university housing. Where York only has 2% from outside PA and zero living in university housing.

Quite honestly, a branch is a branch. You can go to Berks, Lehigh, Delaware County, wherever...two years or four years, as long as you do half decent, you can transfer to UP after two years. As long as going to a branch doesn't bother you, and you really love PSU, I'd say go for it.

Hey there Zevesal: have you considered Penn State Abington campus? Safe, pretty campus in upscale neighborhood, 20 min from Center City by train AND I have had a former student rent a room here and loved it! He is now graduating from University Park! Let me know if you are interested...I have two rooms available and live 10 minutes by car from campus. Good luck wherever you end up. Let us know...
