On March 12, I sent an updated letter to Harvard. Do you think it was too late or will the adcom read it?

I don’t know, but I sent one around then too so I hope they see it

only the adcom knows. considering the nature of the admissions process, its highly unlikely that anyone read it.

It may have been read. They still are making decisions now.

i’m sure they are making decisions right now, but they are more in the process of finalizing them. the way your application is reviewed is that it is read by several admissions officers who evaluate your application and make sure it qualifies for admission. then your application goes to sub-committees and is voted on. then the pool of successful applications go to a full committees that keeps voting and voting and cuting until the admisisons office has its accepted students. so technically, once an application leaves the fileroom and goes into committee, there is basically a very low chance that anything will be added to it. that said, the committee is fully aware that circumstances change and, for instance, mid-year reports have to go into the file as well. so its basically a combination of the admissions officer’s discretion, and whether or not - seeing as we in are in such a late part of the process - the committee has reached a final decision on your application. also remember that a single update is unlikely to make or break your application. im sure that im in no position to comment on the significance of your update seing as i dont knw anything about you or the rest of your application or the nature of the update for that matter, but generally if say you are a really good athelete and it that hasn’t shown by now then its unlikely that a single update will change anything (unless you got recruited late or something idk how that works) so basically you don’t need to worry whether or not it was reviewed.
