Just of note: I am taking part in a virtual stock exchange game with 100s of students around Hong Kong and am currently in the top 3. Even if I come in the top 20 I will win a award for representing my school, and if I come in the top 5 I will win an individual award. Furthermore, I will be doing a similar kind of competition, but in school only, and will most probably win that. If I do achieve well in these two competitions, how will my chances at business schools be affected, particularly Wharton?

Anyone at all?

lol i just glanced at it cuz i just posted something on this “chance me now” thread.
and seriously. you’re app looks amazing.

All you care about is Wharton, and you will get in, trust me. I am willing to put money on it.

Wow thanks. Just out of curiosity, to what extent would my chances drop if my SAT was a 2250, not a 2320, and my IB predicted was a 41, not a 44 - thats a drop in weighted GPA from 4.9 to about 4.5 (but my school does not give a rank or GPA)?

Sorry for the seemingly arrogant title, didn’t mean it as somewhat of an order, I meant it as an opportunity to give me new chances as many people chanced me before with older stats.

No offense, but all of the extracurriculars with “(11,12)” scream “I’m doing it for college applications” - and admissions officers will probably know that.

Pretty good and you could get into those schools, but you need a more focused approach. Just do what you enjoy. From my point of view, you seem to be trying to do a little of everything

those are quite impressive stats, but I would recommend applying to fewer schools. I knew a girl who graduated from my school last year with equally impressive accomplishments- president/officer in many clubs, 2380 SAT (2400 superscored), hundreds of hours of community service, several extracurriculars in which she had been participating for 4+ years, 13 AP tests with mostly 5’s, and she was Indian and spoke three languages.

Everyone thought she should have gotten into all the schools to which she applied, but she was waitlisted at several top universities like Harvard and Stanford simply because she applied to 17. Top notch universities like to think they have a good chance of you choosing to attend them, because the percentage of accepted students who enroll reflects on their statuses. I think it is likely you will get into all of those schools, but if there are a few you know you will simply not consider attending, I would narrow down the list to which you apply.

And you know this because…?

From what I’ve heard, schools aren’t supposed to know what other schools you’re applying to.
