*UPDATED* Please chance me for any/all schools and I will chance back!!

Hi I'm a Chinese female, born in China and adopted by US Caucasian parents. I live in Illinois and have lived in Japan and Michigan too. I will be putting Caucasian on the CA because I feel that I identify more with Caucasians as I have grown up in a Caucasian family.

I'm going to apply to the following colleges in the fall:
Case Western, Cornell U, Lawrence U, Northwestern U, Oberlin College, Purdue U, Rose-Hulman, Stanford U, U of Notre Dame, U of Rochester, Vanderbilt U, and Wash U in St. Louis
*With Lawrence U and Oberlin, I would do the 3/2 program (3 years at LA school and then 2 at partner school probably Wash U to end up with a BA in physics or chemistry or something similar and BS in engineering)

I am looking to go into a field of engineering, possibly chemE. I know that it's a lot harder to get into engineering schools but I'm hoping that I'll be able to still get into some good programs. Please chance me for any or all of the schools I listed above. My dream school is Stanford U but I know it's extremely hard to get in. Thanks so much!

*Stanford- High reach for everyone.
*WUSTL- Reach.
*Vanderbilt- Reach.
*Cornell- Low reach. (since you’re a female in engineering)
*Northwestern- Low Reach/High match.
*Notre Dame- Low reach/High Match.
Case Western- Match.
Oberlin- Match.
URochester- Safety.
Purdue- Safety.

*=Unpredictable. However, you’re assured to get into at least one of these schools if you apply to all of them…

I’m not knowledgeable about Rose-Hulman or Lawrence, ahah… Sorry!

Best of luck!

You don’t really choose your ethinicity… its kind of what you are. But do whatever as you please just know that some colleges might mistake you for lying on your application if they find out that your actually Asian, then again do whatever you want.

@coola426
Your ethnicity is based on your environment. Your race is based on what genetics you have. Common app asks for what you most identify with and I most identify with Caucasians since I have spent my whole life growing up in a Caucasian family. I didn’t even have any Asian friends until high school. So my ethnicity is Caucasian but my race is Asian.

I agree with everything EliKresses said, and want to add that you’ll definitely get into Rose-Hulman and Lawrence.

It seems like you have led a pretty unique life. Make sure that stands out in your application through essays & whatnot, that stuff is gold for places like Stanford.

Stanford- Reach
Vanderbilt- High Match
Cornell- Low reach
Northwestern- High match.
Notre Dame- High Match.
URochester- Safety.
Purdue- Safety.

Only chanced you for the schools I’m familiar with. I honestly think you have a good shot at each of the schools you listed. You have a high GPA, good ACT/SAT II scores, good ECs, and a good class ranking. Best of luck!

Chance me back, please.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1357944-chance-me-nyu-cornell-miami-more.html</a></p>

Stanford- Reach
Vanderbilt- Match/Low Reach
Cornell- Reach
Northwestern- Match
Notre Dame- Match
URochester- Safety
Purdue- Safety

The only thing I would suggest is raising the SAT II scores. Also, try taking another science SAT II test, if that is what you plan on majoring in.

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1358147-chance-duke-ed-vandy-cornell-georgetown-u-florida.html</a></p>

If you’re going for engineering I’d also suggest applying to Tufts. Beautiful campus, great engineering, amazing location (right near boston and all the other colleges). I’d also recommend not applying to rochester. just because if you get in you won’t want to go. take it from someone who’s been there and has friends going to school there, it’s a terrible place to spend 4 years of your life. it’s very isolated, very cold, a lot of crime, and its economy recently tanked when kodak shut down it’s factories there.

anyway:
Stanford- Reach
Vanderbilt- Match/Low Reach
Cornell- Low Reach (female)
Northwestern- Match/Low Reach
Notre Dame- can’t say, never looked at it
URochester- Safety
Purdue- Safety
Lawrence U - Safety
Tufts - Match

Wow your life story is totally unusual write a really good essay and you should have a good chance for a few of these as they love unique characters
Stanford- very competitive, reach
Vanderbilt- Match/ Low reach
Cornell-low reach
Northwestern- Lowe reach
Notre Dame- Sorry but ive never heard of it as im looking at unis good for econ only atm
U of Rochester- safety it kind of sucks though
