I do know of two people who had buyers remote and wanted to commit to another school. It could be very possible that the three who were admitted off the wait list will be the only people admitted from the wait list

Hi accioknight thank you so much for the kind words about Duke JHU is amazing, my brother (who’s a weird science prodigy) will be applying next year and it is one of the top schools on his list.

I can’t believe they’re already accepting people off the wait-list! The same is happening on the yale wait-list thread. By the way, to all you international students, do they view us in the context of our school or in our country? Because I am the only one who applied (and got wait-listed) in my school in the UK.

This is all so exciting! I haven’t gotten any responses (even from my regional admissions officer confirming receipt of my documents). I guess I’ll assume that since the LOCI email didn’t bounce back, that they got it! :D

In a few days we’ll all have definite answers! :D

No repsonse for me yet. I don’t even know whether this should good news or bad.

I’m pretty sure they don’t send out anything over the weekend

they’re admitting people early because the school is definitive on their summer melt stats…which is like minus 30 to 50 students right there

so it’s actually possible for 30 people to be admitted off the wait list this year?

Wow, they must have had serious faith in their summer melt stats.

30 is still a very low number. The DP said that 60% of 2800 waitlistees stayed - so that’s, like, 1680 people right there. Btw, guys, the Penn portal is down - prolly because transfer decisions will be out today? It’s confusing, though, the message said that it will open again at 8 pm EDT while transfer decisions will be out at 3 pm…

Maybe we’ll know tonight?

Has anyone heard anything?

I heard nothing from them thus far. Probably we’ll have to wait for a while.

Nope Now I’m not sure my update arrived to the admissions office. My counselor offered sending in my update, along with my letter of continued interest, and I thought “Well, that’s good, I guess. It will all go together.” But then I didn’t see him for about two weeks, and I just thought he was busy, but he’d said he’s send it… But today I found out his mother died and he had to go back to his home country, so I’m not completely sure he sent it… Is there any way to know if it got there? I’ve been so busy with IB exams, I was just waiting for an update… :/

@andreaval I think there is hardly a way to find it out. For me, no matter which email address I sent my update to(eapps or regional counselor), there was literally no reply. Even if you send another email asking the admission office whether your update has been sent, they would not reply you.
PS Sorry for your counselor’s loss

I haven’t heard back from my admissions counselor either about whether or not she received my loci. Admissions office did reply back about a problem I had though.

Yeah, they’re giving us the silent treatment regarding LOCIs lol

@nhiyenvo glad they worked your problem out! Welcome to purgatory (kidding, of course)

Lol hurray purgatory. I just want to get this over with. I wish they would respond back but ohh well. We will just have to wait. 3 out of 17 people at my school declined Penn so hopefully that will increase our chances even just a little bit.

maybe we’ll hear back by the end of the week?

hopefully we do hear back soon. The waiting is agonizing hehe i’ve been dreaming of this since 10 years old. Living around Penn really has made me love it. Do you guys know if they’re releasing decisions at once? or adding people as they see fit?

According to the article it seemed that the majority of wait listers would be rejected all at once. They also made it seem that rejections would happen sooner rather than laterr

I feel so unwanted now since others have been accepted xD
