Hi guys I got into another school so I will be dropping my waitlist from CAS. Hope one of you get in!
Congratulations!! and thank you for dropping your waitlist.
Any news ?
There is surprising similarity with last year. They started to call on May 5th. Two got off WL of Wharton.
@f2000sa is this for this yr. Two admitted in wharton ?
Dayum, I just got off the waitlist
You got in??!!
Ya! SEAS!
Congratulations @ywy1999! Can you share any relevant info - what kind of updates you submitted with continued interest, maybe what highlights of your complete application you think made you stand out?
@ywy1999 YAY I GOT IN TOO!! College of Arts and Sciences!!!
Congratulations @RFrederic! Can you share any relevant info as well? Was it phone call? What state are you from?
To those of you who got in, does your financial aid say anything? My sons says to contact the financial aid department.
@betwixt Aww thank you so much!! I only hope that you will get in too! Surprisingly, it was not a phone call, but instead I got an email with the subject line: “Update to Your Penn Applicant Portal” and I was like whaaaaaa?? Did they reject me already??? So I’m sweating bullets as I type in my login and the video plays!! And I was like OMG!!
The thing is, I actually called this morning at around maybe 10 am ish and I specifically asked for my admissions counselor and I said my name, state, and school and I asked her if she got my waitlist updates and she said that she did.
I’m from Connecticut!! (Fairfield County region)
Good luck to you all!! <3
That is so exciting @RFrederic!! Seems like people who call usually don’t get much information, but in your case it prompted a great reply!! I haven’t been able to ever speak with my counselor, but have gotten confirmations that info was received. Do you mind if I ask what types of updates you sent? Standard LOCI, 3rd quarter grades, or did you do something really unique?
@betwixt I’m so surprised because I thought my counselor would be so annoyed with my random call And for the updates, I really tried to make them in a way that could make me “stand out” almost, you know?? At first, in April, I think around the 12th, I sent in a standard LOCI, and I EMPHASIZED that if I were to be admitted, I would DEFINITELY attend. So I think that this sort of gave them an idea of my dedication.
I also sent something really unique, I made a project poster and I sent it into them, and maybe they thought that was cool! I also asked my guidance counselor to send in an updated transcript (including 3rd quarter grades) and a third recommendation from my math teacher that I never sent in, and an updated LOCI (in total I think I sent in about 5 different update letters stating new things that happened since March) and an essay that I wrote!!
I definitely think that y’all should send in something that will make you stand apart from the others, and definitely express dedicated interest!! like, “I will definitely attend Penn if admitted.” And maybe even calling your admissions counselor and asking if he/she received your updates won’t hurt either!!
Message me if you need anything!!
In my letter, I wrote about my awards from the past several months. I didnt write any love letter or why essay.
Also, im from Ohio
@Jenmadden My financial aid doesn’t say anything, either. I clicked on the link called" Student financial services" and the page said Access Denied, so I guess I just have to contact the financial aid department then!
Congrats! Can you share your updated awards?
@JackZ83 I finished another research project at the local university lab, my rocket team (we designed and built a little rocket to reach certain altitude and time in air) is heading to the national final, and my amc12 aime score
