For those of you who got in, did you send your LOCI to the admissions counselor directly or did you just upload it? Also, if you had updates past the April 15th deadline, how did you send them?
@Dolphinsarecool I sent my first LOCI directly through my portal, and then I sent the rest of my updates periodically to my admissions counselor through email and through snail mail
Any international got into engg pl.
We are from Upstate NY, and my daughter just found out that she was admitted to CAS. We found out by logging into the portal. Thanks to @Rfrederick for the info regarding the portal. Her email went into spam and she would have never known if she hadn’t checked the portal.
She sent in the LOCI update through the portal. She did not have any major awards since she applied, but still she updated her community service and about her lead role of Sandy in the Grease musical theater. Then she wrote a newer version of “Why Penn” in the same essay. Three of her teachers sent in recommendations.
She is jumping up and down and screaming for joy. She was not admitted to any private school she applied, but had committed to honors program at U of Michigan, which really really loved. The news is still so fresh, and we are all still digesting it. She will figure it out in the next couple of days.
Thanks a lot to this forum for all the information and support!
@dallumom congrats… all the best…
hey guys, I won a nation competition after the april 15th deadline. Do you think I should send an email to my counselor?
Did anyone get realeased from the WL, yet?
My son called the admissions office this morning after seeing that many waitlisted students have gotten offers for admission. Instead of being honest about it, the admissions office told him that they “have not decided if they will be using the waitlist this year”, which we know is a blatant lie.
That is exactly what I was told when I called today.
I know someone from NYC who has gotten off the waitlist at Penn and accepted it from her prior committment to Umich
@Garybarry that just might be @dallumom !!
I called Penn, and the woman said they still didn’t know how many people they would be accepting from the waitlist. She said it would be sorted out in the next three weeks. She was super vague just like when I called Princeton.
Is it of any significance that on the FAQ (accessed from the waitlisted letter in the Penn portal), it says “We may begin reviewing candidates on the wait list in May, and final decisions are released on a rolling basis through June.”? Did they say this last year in the FAQ? Maybe they just plan on admitting the majority of waitlisted students in late May/early June? Of course, they could also just use such a late date and accept most people off the waitlist in May so people don’t call after the deadline asking if they got off the waitlist - I doubt many people will call in July.
To all the people that got in, about what time did you receive a call or notification saying that you had been accepted off the waitlist?
@Cjblodgett I got an email notification at 5:35 pm on Monday
Any international student who got off waitlist for engineering
Yday called admission offc. They seem not to reveal a lot but said it will be through out the month
Dunno if anyone else has this but on my UPenn portal I can no longer upload documents and any “progress updates” the option is just gone. Anyone else has that?
@Tatso99 yes for me same
@Tatso99 I didn’t get you… We weren’t allowed to upload docs after we updated the application once. There never was that option
