UPenn Class of 2025 Waitlist

I think that the emails have already been sent and the second wave should come 2 weeks after the first one (when there is decision deadline), so, basically, I predict it to be June 2nd

@Awesome5510 will you call them today?

any updates today?

I will call tomorrow. (Sorry I just saw this message)

No rejections or extended waitlist yet.

It’s possible that they come out this week because it’s unlikely they released all their decisions with that wave.

How many got off the SEAS waitlist in the first wave? Like do we have an approximate? And were any of them international?

I believe 3 with one international.

For the sake of information. I was admitted off the SEAS waitlist as an international last Thursday.

Ohkay Thanks for the info

First of all, Congratulations! Also, if you don’t mind sharing, then may i please know which country are you from? And did you apply for financial aid?

East Asia & full pay; I expect they’ll have a second round of waitlist admissions in a couple of weeks so don’t lose hope yet!

What is the goal of calling? They will not have much to indicate.

well usually they say things like “very soon” or little things to indicate when a next wave will be released. At least, that has been the case so far for most universities. So essentially, the goal is to get them to hint something.

12th Call to Admissions after Commitment Day:

  1. Is the committee still reviewing waitlist applications?

“Yes Uhh so when the waitlist closes, you’ll receive an email saying that we’re not accepting anymore waitlists.”

  1. Will more waitlist decisions be released?

“Yes, they’ll be released on a rolling basis.”

  1. Will the next wave of decisions be released based off of the number of spots left from the first wave? (Like only if people decline from the first wave there’ll be spots for second wave and if nobody declines then there are no more spots?)

“Uhh yes so actually once we fill up the entire class Umm so like the class of 2025 and all the seats Umm that’s like when the waitlist will be closed so yes it’s dependent on whether like they answer and also umm like the waitlist answers.”

  1. So to an extent, all the possible spots have been given out for the first wave and only if people decline their spots from the first wave will there be more spots for a second wave?

“Umm yess and also from the regular decision applicants since we are also still reviewing Umm like certain applicants lions as well like it’s not just like wave by wave Umm it’s more like a wholistic content.”

  1. So some regular decision applicants could be deciding that they won’t go and spots will open up?

“Yes or like they decide that they want to take a gap year, that’s possible too.”

  1. When will more waitlist decisions be released?

“Umm I think it well our official word is just that it’s on a rolling basis throughout June or until the waitlist is full so in the meantime there’s nothing that you have to do on your end, you just have to keep checking your email.”
