UPenn Official Transfer Thread Fall 2007

oh cruel world. mine still isn't there. this is just torture. guys, what does the screen look like when you click 'submit' to log in? is there another button, or just the answer??

is everyone here for the class of 2010? or are some for 2009?

OMFG! i got in!

Congrats Jimmy? To the college?

It seemds UPenn gave out alot of admissions this year!

Congrats!

not enough yet lol

upenn is giving out the acceptance decisions now, right? that sux, cause mine isnt up.

Vandyboy, decisions are coming out starting today untill the end of the week.
Acceptance letters are sent out with the rejection letters but I doubt people will be as jovial to run to CC and post their rejections.

The notifications are sent in batches, without any preference to the decision outcomes.

applynow,

"The notifications are sent in batches, without any preference to the decision outcomes."

From personal contact with my admissions counselor, I think that's incorrect.

I believe it acts more like a rolling waitlist.

Applynow, did you just join CC?

Haha wouldn't it be funny if he was Dr. Stetson.

i'm in, good luck to everyone else!!

those of you who got your acceptances online, did you get an email first?

do they only do one batch a day?

no i just got a new account, who's dr. stetson?
haha anyway, what i meant is that just because you didn't find out today, doesn't mean that you didn't get in because decisions are sent out regardless....

why dont they release the decisions at the same time? damn

well everyone who found out, when did you submit your app?

chanman- what do you mean by a rolling waitlist?

i submitted the day before it was due

i think that

They put the sure-wins and sure-outs in the first batch.

And then the ones they're not sure they put later. They wait for response from the first batch, and then see how to figure out the rest of the applicants.

There's a reason they do this ROLLING thing, think about it. Concepts in life is simple. They do rolling for a reason. They release at different times for a reason.

If it was random, they would just wait till every one is decided and release them all at the same time...to make it as fair for everyone as possible.

But they don't do it the traditional way...that means something else MUST be going on.

Yeah but do you think penn really expects to hear from their admits in three days? Aren't they supposed to be done with decisions by the end of this week?

Clues:

No wait list for transfers.
In the past years, there were 3 batches.
1st batch were GENERALLY stronger applicants, from the prevoius years threads
Time interval between 1st and 3rd batch is 3 weeks (this year's weird...), which is how long the accepted ones have time to respond.
My officer contacted me for more additional information right before the 1st batch was released last week. Let's assume today is the 2nd batch. I still have not received a decision. (That probably means I won't get in)

Addy, thats another thing weird about this year...It's different from last year! So I really don't know. But just my 2 cets.

You should probably just wait for your letter, dude.
