Wait… So even if my portal page says nothing is missing should I still call them to confirm? Or would they call me?

Yes, the portal is officially obsolete. You can call and confirm but most likely they will tell you that if you are missing anything they will contact you.
You shouldn’t worry about it if you haven’t been contacted.

I was contacted about missing SAT scores a few days ago (which im almost certain that their office lost because all my other schools got them just fine) and i emailed unofficial reports in. I just checked the portal and they are still listed as missing and im worried they either didnt get them again or wont accept them because theyre unofficial. should i try calling or will that reflect poorly on me?

no. They’ll contact you to see if you have any missing items

Has anyone called the admissions office recently? I am thinking I might tomorrow, so I can confirm the May 14th date.

I called asking for an early decision from Penn and they said they didnt do that, so i asked when decisions will come out and got mid may >.>

^I was just thinking of calling them tomorrow and asking that. Oh well I guess I will try anyways. If more people push and annoy them, they might release the decisions earlier xD

How do they release the decisions? Online, email, or snail mail?

haha. I think its by the penn portal.

btw madi was it you that added me on fb a few days ago

sighh

yes sir!

I think they send out user/pw so you can access the Penn site to see your decision. I am walking over to their admissions office tomorrow to hand in updated transcript. (I live close by.) I will attempt to ask them about decision release dates, maybe they will be nicer in person ; p.

oh sweeet! let us know how that goes!
push them extra hard from me…thanks :P

may 14th?
i heard they send them out in batches depending on the day you submitted it. it that true?

Yeah, unfortunately, they were not too specific. There answer to my question went something like “They will be released in the next few weeks. You will receive an email soon.” I still am pretty confident the first batch will come out on the 14th though. The trend for the last couple years does indicate it would be the second friday of May.

pieces: I am pretty sure that’s not accurate. I spoke to someone at Penn’s admissions office, and he told me it was sometimes random. The adcoms might grab bunch of applications in no particular order. They probably aren’t going to deliberately review the earlier applications first.

Who has gotten the admission letter?

I think the 14th is a safe bet.
@Joe_L, on you comment to pieces: are you sure? Cause if I remember correctly I read that decisions go out according to the order of submission. I’ll try to find that…

its funny that i’ve seen your posts on other colleges too.
good luck to all of us!!

Hahha… Yeah I just commented on your question on the Yale Transfers thread.

hhahahha yeah and I commented on Cornell lol I got into Cornell btw :)

guys which one would be the best between Cornell, UPenn or John Hopkins?

I didn’t get a email asking for midyear report…does that mean I’ve been rejected already?? depressed

@hadiga:

If you go buy UNSWR then UPenn, jhu, then cornell

of course it depends on what your major is, Penn is the best with business, cornell is the best with hotel management and engineering, and JHU is good for premed
