Upenn Transfer fall 2010

ummmhhhh thank you Castiel… Im doing pre-med BUT i loveee Cornell :slight_smile: im waiting for JHU so lets see how that goes :)

haha same. But I asked around and people said Penn is better than Cornell in terms of overall education, and penn beats cornell in a lot of the rankings too.

Im waiting on hopkins as well but I dont think i will attend if i got in anyways. To me its down to cornell or penn.

JHU seems to cut throat lol

:D You can’t come into the Penn thread and ask which the best is!!! :DD

Penn is obviously better than Cornell!!!

^what he said…

uuuummmmm if you’re doing premed then you will NOT love Cornell… loollllll

Ok so I actually did get an email saying my mid-term report was missing… (wait did I post this already I don’t remember lol)

You still haven’t sent your midterm report?

@jimbo37
When did you get the email asking for midterm?

so i got a fail email.

Dear Shanahan,

We are following up a final time for outstanding documents. IF YOU HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY CONTACTED OR SENT IN INFORMATION AS LATE AS MAY 4th, 2010, PLEASE DISREGARD!

In reviewing your application to the University of Pennsylvania, we have found that we are still missing the following parts of the application:

High School Transcript

One Professor Recommendation - have Philosophy reccommendation

It is likely that this information was sent to us but in the interest of time we would like for it to be resubmitted. Please fax copies of these forms to my attentionas soon as possible at (215) 898-9670 or email an electronic version to clgreen@admissions.upenn.edu.

The documents listed above are required in order for the Admissions Office to process and evaluate your application. Please note, however, that as long as these materials are received in a timely manner you will not be at a disadvantage in the admissions process.

yeap Im between UPeen and Cornell :slight_smile:
@Shannahanyang: send all your documents, wow! its super late but send them anyway :)

the fail thing about that is i think i did already.

the rec letter was prolly my prof’s fault. he was the one who said he sent it in

I called today to submit my mid-term report. I also asked when they were gonna release the decision. The lady answered my phone said it would be between the 12th to 14th, but she couldn’t make it specific. She said they would release the decision once the selection committee finishes reviewing the material. She also said they would release through the portal and a letter would be sent on the same day.

btw, the selection committee starts to go through the applications today so submit anything missing by today.

good luck

@ ivyville, how do you know that the selection committee is looking at apps today? i’m just really confused about the whole process because i never submitted a midterm report because all of the counselors that i spoke to from penn said that it wasn’t necessary and they would ask for one if they needed. but i haven’t gotten a request for a missing document so i’m wondering if they already looked at my app and decided that they didn’t need one (whether that’s a good or bad thing i don’t know) or maybe they’ve just looked at applicants’ transcripts? i’m so confused at how this is working

mm so i called penn today and the admissions rep told me decisions will be released on May 15th, which is a Saturday

that sort of contradicts what you guys (and past threads) have been saying about Friday, hm?

I just got notification today that Penn is missing my high school transcript (even though it wasn’t listed as missing on Penn Portal). Problem is, my high school is in Singapore, so I can’t call them until really late tonight (when they’ll be open) to have them resend it, and therefore Penn won’t effectively receive it, or be able to process it, until tomorrow. Even if they fax or email it to Penn, am I screwed?

winonanot: It could be that the admissions rep. assumed 15th was a friday. Last year, decisions were released on May 15th, a friday.

ivyville: Did the person you spoke with say they just began to review applications today? If they just started to evaluate applicants today, then they only have 7 days before the first wave of decisions… I know that decisions are continually released on a weekly basis, but, still, how much can they accomplish in 7 days?

@ker2008

i missed the mid-term and i could not get it filled until today because my prof only holds office hour today. so i emailed the lady who told me to send my mid-term and asked her whether this is too late or not. She told the selection committee started to review the application this morning and asked me to submit asap. i don’t think they just started review all the materials. i guess they are picking from what have been pre-selected before, because this is no way they can get it finished in a week if they just started. that is just what I THOUGHT.

Wait, ivyville, she told you your application was reviewed yesterday morning? Or, did she imply they were just beginning to evaluate applications in general?

BTW, guys, if you look at last year’s thread, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/564731-upenn-official-sas-transfers-2009-thread-29.html</a>, you will see not too many CC’ers were accepted. It’s pretty depressing ; /

Could it be because Most CCers applied to Wharton which is a lot harder to get into than CAS?
Idk… Just a guess
