so I'll be taking upper division political science classes in the fall and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how hard they tend to be, any advice, and what professors I should stay away from or should absolutely sign up for. also, I'm taking an upper division class and it's prerequisite at the same time. bad idea?

also...comm st. 101 can be taken for poli sci major right?

Depends on the class... I did the minor for a while, but simply could not get classes, so I dropped it. But as with everything it depends on the class as to how difficult it will be.

Do you want professors who will challenge you? In that case, take Thies and Baum. Do you want professors who hand out grades? Then don't take Thies or Walker.

My recommendations for "must take" are Thies, Walker, Larson, Zaller, and O'Neill.

I've never heard of Hussey and Gussin... must be adjunct, lecturers, or newbies.

Schwartz is a good professor. It's even better that he's conservative (I'm not) because he'll challenge you to think differently than...say... most of the sociology department.

actually, they just posted up the political science check sheet on the dept. website outlining which communication classes we can take for the major, and they've added a TON of communication classes which will count now.
