Upperclassmen housing

Do students normally choose to live on or off campus during their junior and senior years? If they live off campus, where do they normally choose to live? Are there apartment complexes or neighborhoods students that students commonly live in?

A lot of students stay on campus, but it is definitely mixed. Some students choose to move off for a multitude of reasons including money (it is generally cheaper off campus), they want a single room or they want some freedom from Fordham’s strict on- campus policies (ex. you need to sign in guests at night, 2 night limit for overnight stays, rooms are checked by RAs over vacations). There are definitely areas and buildings close to campus where students lease apartments. But many do choose to stay on campus. Rose Hill has two suite/apartment style dorms which house a majority of the juniors and seniors. These dorms have kitchens and in-suite bathrooms. My S is a junior and lives on campus in Walsh. New apartment style dorms (Campbell and Salice-Conley) opened this year which house a lot of seniors --these new dorms have a good number of single rooms which are popular.
