I’m a freshman planning on attending cal poly next year. I turned in my housing application, license agreement, and payment on april 6 thinking i could secure housing before turning in my sir. I thought that if i did not end up going to cal poly that i would just get a refund. I got an email yesterday saying that i must turn in my sir to secure a spot. Am I screwed. Is housing filled. I really want to know now but the housing office is closed on weekends. I turned in my sir the minute i found out but i am worried that it was too late. Help guys!!!

You might be out of luck for cal poly housing, but I am going to be staying at Stenner Glen, which is basically the same distance from campus and houses alot of freshman.

It offers basically the same experience although the rooms are suite-style with 8 people in a suite. You can have either a room with another person or your own room. I chose this option over the housing at cal poly because it is closer to my major (arch), is supposed to have better food, and offers more room in a suite as compared to a typical dorm. As well, I believe it is cheaper.

When i went down we were very worried when we heard the housing was full or nearly full but there are actually alot of options off campus that are very close.

The suites have RAs, security, etc. -- just like the normal dorms. I was actually pretty impressed by it when we visited. If you are familiar with the campus at all, they are located across the train track (i believe the west side of campus, near the business building).

you'll probably be okay. i turned in my sir on may 1st and they emailed me a confirmation saying that i did have a spot on campus for housing but i won't find out which residence hall till summer.

This is neumeisterwd with my other name. Thanks for the input. I got a confirmation as well.

it is OK for me to wait for another 2 weeks to register at Stenner Glen, ?

I haven't checked their site, but I doubt they have a deadline other than when they run out of room.

yeah. when do you think theyll run out of room then?

Your guess is as good as mine. Why do you need to wait two weeks?

I'm sending in my payment to Stenner Glen tomorrow..... hopefully some space is still available, but just keep in mind that not all the residents there are Cal Poly students, so that makes me question the availability.

hi. again. I submit my application online about 3 days ago. and they say on the web page that I will received an email from then within 24 hours. I never did. I've already mailed my lease agreement with the check........ I tried to fill out the application again. and the page could not be displayed. what shall I do?

You could call.

stenner Glen is filled up for cal poly boy spots as of friday may 13. If your a guy and going to cal poly and you didnt have your money in their office by fri your pretty much screwed.

I sent in my application in last wed and we went down to visit the school yeterday (sat) to drop off a check and see the rooms. Went in and they told me that tey filled up and I was somewhere around 10th on the waiting list and that spots rarely free up.

My parents and i freaked out cuz i didnt get on-campus housing either cuz i registered the day it was due.

I ended up going next door to university housing which I thought was a ton moe expensive but its the same price + utilities for a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse if you apply for a shared room.
Its apartment style with living room and kitchen so its harded to meet a lot of people, but its not like i had much of a choice.
Haha, so i ended up getting there and looking at the room and signing the lease 20 min later.

If you dont have a place they said they were like 85% full and going fast.

Do you mean Mustang Village I(II)?

mustang village I

i just got a spot at mustang village I too, which style suite did you get dacs331?
