URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't send out the materials before the deadline! :/

The college office at my school is going to be closed next week, so it means that I have to wait till the 4th. But the deadline for some of my schools is 1/1. Is it okay to send out the material (like transcripts, letter of rec) on the 4th? I will definitely send out the appplication online before 1/1.

What does each school say? For the colleges I applied to, they definitely wanted everything mailed out by the deadline.

For NYU, I think it’s okay to send out the materials shortly thereafter the deadline (that’s what they say). but I’m not so sure about Cornell, Boston U and Boston C.

Call them or email them, as soon as possible.

Talk to the schools and tell them exactly the situation you’re in, and ask them for an extension or what alternative they suggest, but do it first thing on Monday. Also check with your school if there’s someone else (backup person) who can do these relatively routine things like mailing transcripts.

This is a different issue, but similar - the Section 529 plan needed 20 business days to process a tuition payment, and DS’s school didn’t give me that time when the bill came out last year. So I called them and the person put a note on S’s file to not penalize us if the payment was late.

You should have done it earlier.
I have apps Ineed to finish for jan 1, but my transcripts and letters of rec were sent last week.
