I am a Dartmouth ED applicant. Dartmouth accepts Nov SAT scores for ED but due to the application deadline on Nov 8, I was in no position to report my Nov scores as they were due only on 21st. I had to resort to reporting my earlier SAT scores.. Eventually my Nov SAT gave me a leap of 270 points (to 2280) but these naturally reached Dartmouth late.. (Well after the deadline and into the review process) In the app I have twice mentioned D to consider my Nov scores. (I contacted the admission office a hundred times on this issue and they guaranteed that once the scores reached them, my self reported scores will be replaced)

But the problem now is the initial Academic Index calculation by D admissions. Will AI be stalled till the scores reach or change after scores reach? Or will it show no response at all to the new scores? Someone help calm my nerves.

If they accept Nov scores for ED, and you sent the Nov scores, they will consider the Nov scores. Ok? I do not think contacting the admissions multiple times is a good idea.

Milkweed, thanks for that beautifully kind reply. If you were my position wanting to do something with your life, you wouldn’t gave taken half measures, would you?

Boby642,
Yes, second time i wanted to go for the kill. Ignore everything else and put yourself upon the task. I already have 800,800,800 in sat subjects. A decent SAT 1 score would certainly be a good addition to my profile, I thought. First tip: DONT be naive. First time I wrote, I was. There are a lot of tricks out there that will certainly help you score well. My first time writing score was 630. Now it is 800. One trick i used was to create a ready made template for my essay and gather lots and lots of examples. So basically half the essay is written even before you begin your SAT. Just plug in what your question asks and the relevant examples. An excellent essay would certainly give you a psychological edge because that is the first thing you do in the SAT. A bad essay can deflate you. Search for this superb blog called critical reader and read every single article on error detection, sentece improvement etc. it akso has a complete set of rules for SAT grammar

For CR, i will consider myself brutally unlucky as it was the hardest CR ever. i ended with an abysmal 700. But im a lot better than that. Anyway i would recommend Rocket review revolution, a wonderful analytic book for sat cr. Read the methods here and practise, practise, practise. For vocab search up this thing called “1000 words for SAT Ray Gosa books” that practically covered everything. Being a voracious reader helps too.

Math I ended with 780 which is one mistake I made because I was bored. :p

Key is to take Practise tests. More and more and more practise tests, 4.5 hours everyday, keep them aside.
