URGENT MATTER -- Transfer application cancelled??? (UT Austin)

"Your application for admission has been cancelled. According to our records, your application was completed after the deadline or was incomplete at the time we finalized our decisions. All available spaces for the semester to which you applied have been filled."

So how it ends up being is that I apparently didn't send a transcript for ONE combined course out of high school with a nearby community college (and I'm pretty sure that later, I realized I had to send those transcripts so I did end up requesting them to be sent, be it as it may that I sent it after the deadline). However, when I checked the week of my application materials after the deadline (and I did submit everything else on time), it said that everything was fine and that they had received all my required application materials. Now, when I check back just to make sure on the 29th, I see that the application has already been cancelled! What exactly do I do?

The only thing that I still question about the whole issue is that it says "all available spaces for the semester to which you have applied have been filled." I'm a transfer student; how can they have already decided on all regular and transfer applicants within a month of the transfer deadline? They don't even start notifying/announcing/sending letters of acceptance to us transfer students until late May into middle of June! I would assume the above clause is due to regular admissions, not for transfer admissions.
I would call them now, but obviously it's a Saturday, and the matter gets more urgent as time goes on.
Do I still have a case to argue?

Probably not a strong one. I took a quick look at their transfer website and they are pretty clear about requiring all supporting documents (including transcripts for dual credit courses) by their deadline. Not all colleges are this strict in this regard as I think many know it will take them a while to match everything up.

As to the second part of your post, colleges are now done reviewing the freshman applications and many are now in the beginning stages of reviewing transfer applicants. I would not find it unusual at all for any competitive program to have limited spaces for transfer applicants. UT would have a good idea of numbers now, and possibly they can see by the pile of applicants that they will have no trouble filling whatever spaces are open. And, possibly, one way of shortening that pile is for them to eliminate any applications that were deemed incomplete on the due date.

Sorry, as I know this stinks for you. I don’t know if they’ll consider your application, but I do think it is definitely worth a call to them first thing tomorrow to discuss your situation and politely ask. Good luck.
