! Urgent question !

hey guys. i'm signing up for my classes for next term at a cc in an hour and need to know: do you need to have taken pre-cal to get into ucla? cuz i'd much rather just take statistics online and not bother with taking pre-cal. but if it's one of those things i need, please tell me and i'll take it.

i've already taken honors algebra I in 8th grade, honors geometry in 9th, and honors alg II in 10th. no math junior year.

btw i'm a senior and i know uc schools don't really look at senior year anyway, so...? advice please!!!!!!

waittt i’m not trying to transfer from a cc though. i’m in hs but i’m taking my math classes at a cc next term.

even though the vast majority of people here have taken precalc, if you major doesn’t require it, then you won’t really have to take it. it might look bad that you didnt take a math class junior year though

i go to ucla and i never took precalc in high school, only stats, however, i took math all 4 years.

you can definitely get into ucla taking stats over precalc, but be aware that it is very possible that it could affect you negatively in admissions because of the vast majority of kids who have taken it.

ok…damn, this is tough. my sat is above average for ucla (2140), my gpa is right on par i think (uc gpa of 4.33 iirc), but…ugh…i guess i should just take the pre-cal to be on the safe side. :frowning: thanks, guys.
