Could someone please help me? I opened my laptop at school today, and this big haze just completely covered the computer screen. The tech guy at my school told me that my screen is cracked and I need to get it fixed. I only got my laptop in September and have a warranty through the first year at the minimum. Do first-year warranties cover repairs like this, for a cracked screen?

Yes it’s probably broken. If you didn’t drop it or anything it’s a hardware malfunction. Warranties vary between companies but you should be covered. Check your warranty. Actually read it haha. And make sure you tell them it was a malfunction. Don’t give them any doubt.

It should cover: hardware malfunctions, drops, spills, and surges

^not really, those would be under accidental warranties and not typical warranties.

If it was “just broken” then yes you do have it covered. Also probably do a search on your computer model’s type to see if its a typical sort of issue with your particular model, because knowing so certainly doesn’t hurt.
