UPDATE:
I called up Cornell and they said that I was completely okay if my application was submitted a minute late. As a matter a fact, they even allowed applicants to apply today without being penalized! Thank you everyone for your help!
THanks everyone!!
Update:
I was rejected from Cornell. They probably didn’t even consider me though because I submitted after the deadline.
No it’s because you had a 28 on your act
Yes, because I was always too busy with extracurriculars to study for the ACT… I’ve got great grades, phenomenal extracurriculars, a ton of statewide and national awards, and an amazing essay that should have made the difference
So do other kids like mine, who managed to get a 34 with all those other things and was still not accepted.
I’m sorry those things did not make the difference for you, but I think you are underestimating “the competition” for Cornell…
@welcometomylife I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t get in, but that probably wasn’t the case. I submitted quite a few of my college applications last year a day late because I mistook the deadlines and still got in. You have to remember that Cornell is a very selective institution that looks at the whole picture and more people will get rejected than in, even with spectacular ECs.
I submitted my application a few minutes before the deadline and I still got a GTO so i think that they just didn’t want OP as part of the class doesn’t matter what time they submitted at.
The original point of this thread is now moot, so closing.
