Urgent TAG Language requirement question!

Hi fellow transfer students, I have a rather urgent question I need your help with. I’m planning to TAG UC Santa Barbara Econ/Accounting Major. I’m almost finished with my TAG requirement but all of the sudden realized that I never had the UC language requirement met. I’m trying to have my old school abroad to send the transcript to me so that I can send it to my current CCC to evaluate.

I’m worried that they won’t have time to update my transcript. My question now is that since the TAG deadline is approaching I’m very worried that I will get automatically rejected for not fulfilling the UC language requirement.
Do you think I should just go ahead to add a foreign language class to my “planned” classes that I will be taking next spring semester and once my CCC evaluate my old transcript from abroad, I should just drop my foreign language class???

Please help, Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

You need a minimum of any 30 UC transferable semester units to apply this month.

You need foreign language to meet IGETC requirements so you have time for your transcripts to be evaluated. You can enter a language course on your planned Spring semester and then around January, you can update your Spring schedule.

@ssnewman They don’t ask for the transcripts until you’re accepted so don’t sweat that. If you were taught in another language at your int’l school for two years that counts for IGETC language. Simply bring your transcript to your CC advisor and he or she will check it off when they do the IGETC certification next May. It’s a simple process, no evaluation as the transcript will note the language of instruction. Be sure to note that language is completed and that you’ll have IGETC done on the UC app, and TAG app if they ask.

@happy2help @ohm888 Thank you guys for replying I called the admission office and they gave me the same replies.
