Urgent! Teacher Recommendation Letter!

I have applied to UVA early action, and recently made my SIS account. While checking the status of my application, it said my teacher recommendation had not been submitted. I asked my teacher for the recommendation during the second week of school, and invited her using the online commonapp. I had followed up with her before the deadline, and she said she was almost finished with it.
I am very worried about how this will affect my chances for early action. I will definitely let her know and see if there were any problems submitting. Also, I know that my secondary school forms and counselor rec are submitted through the mail, does the teacher rec have to be submitted this way as well? How lenient will UVA admissions be on the due date of the rec, because this is out of my control?
I appreciate any advice on what I should do!

Bumppppp!!

First thing you should do is relax. I know you’re stressing but I’m pretty sure you’ll be okay. I would definitely talk to the teacher first thing Monday morning–you could even email her work account b/c maybe she’ll check it over the holiday-you never know. I don’t know what UVA’s Friday schedule is-they are probably off-but try calling Admissions. Call Monday if Friday doesn’t work. Just explain it to them. I’m sure you’re not the first to be missing that letter. Good luck to you :)

This has been addressed many times before, but I don’t know how to post the link to Dean J’s blog. The short answer is that you don’t have to worry. It takes weeks for the office to process the submissions and update SIS. You will receive an email if any required submissions are missing from your file.

Good luck!

CollegeGirl - I’m so sorry this is causing you so much stress, but it’s a normal reaction. The previous posters are correct, you are fine. I’ll only add a link to a post similar to yours that I responded to earlier where I posted a link to Dean J’s blog, that robert mentioned. Please take the time to read it. It will explain that once all credentials are processed anyone with something missing will be contacted and given a chance to get it submitted (or resubmitted). Take a breath and have a good holiday.

Thank you guys so much! I had tried to find old blog posts, but nothing turned up so thanks for the link. I’m feeling so relieved right now. Happy holidays to everyone too!
