US history SAT - doable?

Basically, I am just looking at what SAT subjects to study and I am thinking of doing US history but I have very, very basic knowledge of US history as I am international student. I'll be studying starting from now and I am a junior. So, is it doable to study the whole content with very, very basic knowledge of it and get a decent 650+ score on it? I will be hopefully studying it for only 5-6months but 1-2 hours a day.

PS, is it ok for me to use this website instead of buying a book or shall I just buy a book? I prefer the website due to me liking typing my notes on the computer.

Just do Math2/Chem or Physics. Honestly.

I am already going to do maths and can’t really do Chem or Physics. Would it be very hard?

Assuming you have a decent proficiency in the English language (which, from your post, seems evident), this should be more than sufficient. I would advise, however, that you get a prep book or textbook or some source on US History other than SparkNotes. You can still type notes.

Also, you may be interested in World History, though it is only offered two months out of the year.

If i read my history book and at the end of the 2nd semester take the US Subject Test, can I get a 700+ or should I buy another resource.

How many questions wrong typically is a 700-

700 if you answered 72 right, 12 wrong, and left 11 blank

There are many combinations of right/wrong/blank to get a 700, but this should basically tell you. There are about 90-95 questions, I believe it varies from test to test.

For the OP: you should DEFINITELY buy a book. The list of good prep books: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/358168-list-best-review-books-16.html</a> seems to praise Kaplan highly. I personally just studied using an AP prep book and REA’s Crash Course. Crash Course should be highly effective, especially if used to complement Kaplan.

Your plan of 1-2 hours for 5-6 months should definitely give you a good score. Not many people would actually stick to that… but if you do, I would probably see you getting a 700 to 750+. Of course, when you take practice tests you should be able to see what range you’re in, and it won’t be much of a guessing game then.
