US History subject test WITHOUT taking APUSH?

Is it possible to score around a 700 on the USH Subject Test without taking APUSH? I've taken two years of honors USH. I have a PrincetonReview study guide and the APUSH textbook.

Thanks :)

Anything is possible, so yes. Honors + Good Prepping is an easy 700 ifyou really try!

Definitely possible.

Thanks for the responses!
Should I get a more in depth review guide? I’m not sure how in depth Princeton Review is, and I don’t have enough time to read an entire textbook. I heard AMSCO and REA are good books. Or would Princeton Review be sufficient?

Thank you!

You can definitely get a 700+ on the US History Subject Test. I only took 1 year of Honors US History and didn’t study any extra for the Subject Test and got a 690, so it is definitely possible. Good luck.

I think that a thorough read of AMSCO and some additional prep (even without APUSH) would easily ensure a 700.

Absolutely

However, OP, what has your grade been for these 2 years?

Whitesox: Thank for you for the luck! I’ll need it
Charlie Brown: Thanks for the reply!
RedCatharsis: I got high A’s and A+'s in USHI, but my teacher for USHII wasn’t as good of a teacher so I got lower A’s/A-'s (Not bad at all, but I definitely didn’t learn a whole lot :frowning: )

Additionally, I only have three weeks to prepare - I had planned on more, but I totally forgot that I had APs, haha. I find that I am more inclined to learn & retain information when under pressure, but am I being unreasonable? Is AMSCO is a huge book?

Sorry for asking so many questions!
The feedback is seriously appreciated :)

well fyi, i’ve been told that i’m a very fast reader,
but i read amsco from cover to cover (minus the “how to write a good dbq” sections) in about two days and retained most of the info before the ap. I’m planning to do that a few more times before june comes 'round.

So yeah, definitely 700+ is an attainable, reasonable goal.

Best of luck!

Friend of mine whos really intelligent got a 760 with just an honors level course, no studying whatsoever.

Amsco is somewhere around 600-650 pages. Including the DBQ/MC practice

Ok, I am taking the USH Sat II, and I haven’t finished my US History (no honors or AP) class yet. I am getting a 670 on sparknotes, what should I do to get the rest? I’m taking it on june 6th along with mathII and physics.

This is all really encouraging, haha!
I just got the REA book - my friend’s, and I don’t have time to wait for the AMSCO to come in the mail - so I hope that sufficient? I know AMSCO is really good, but I also heard REA comes close…!
