US House of Rep. Page Program

Page Program, U.S. House of Representatives

Would recommend! :) (have to be 16 and a sophomore or junior in high school)

How competitive is it?

Really competitive (from what I heard, I wouldn’t say so personally since I applied and was accepted). But it’s a completely amazing experience and looks great on college apps if you get in.

do you know if a person is 16 and is a senior is she eligible? (due to the fact she skipped a grade - my cousin.)

I’m not sure. Usually it’s only sophomores and juniors, but they might make an exception considering your special case. I would call the office of the Congressman who you are applying through.

this specifically says juniors only
look at the “How to Become a Page”
its says high school juniors

I mean if she is 15 and a junior.

light up the sky, how much of a beast were you to get into it? I’m involved in 5 school activities and a few outside school that are politics-oriented. I’ve won a few contests on the school and state level. I’ve also volunteered for a mayoral campaign and the campaign of my would-be sponsor. Would that put me in?

is this a summer program? i didn’t see the summer program part…it looks like it goes the whole school year.

there are 2 summer sessions as well as fall and spring sessions during the school year.

bcooper- sounds good but i don’t know. applications are always very subjective. i suggest you just apply because you never know. the app itself isn’t very long anyway. it just requires a personal statement, a letter of rec, and extracurricular activities list.

How do you get the application for this? I’ve been interested in it for a while but everytime I call my congresswoman’s office I get voicemail lol

Thanks dawg

when is the application period?

where can you find who can/cannot sponsor pages? My congressman’s office cannot nominate, and it’s very difficult to find out who else can… they could have made this a lot easier :</p>

I’d also like to know the answer about being 15 and a rising junior please :)

You can’t do it at 15. You must be 16 AND a junior.

(I went through the application process and was accepted, so I would know.)

Any one accepted for the July 2010 session?

Yes! Only one month away…

I want to apply for the House and Senate page summer program 2011. Should I contact them Jan 5th when the the Congress comes in? I don’t want to be too late.

bump bump someone please help!!!
