Anyone have the old list? Hard to find the differences, cause, ya know, so much changed. Actual question though.
Dartmouth 11…RPI 39
Berkeley 20
Updated. Though looks almost the same as last year, Swat moved down and Wellesley up, maybe a couple of other minor moves.
Williams
Amherst
Wellesley
Middlebury
Swarthmore
Bowdoin
Carleton
Pomona
CMC
Davidson
Rice 15…UT says rank not published
I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed Mudd got bumped back…
Colgate and Hamilton tied for 12th on LAC list, adding spice to local rivalry.
CIT 12 tie
UChicago has moved up very high in the past 5 years.
i didnt really care for rankings that much but WOW. uchicago is tired for 3rd with yale now. wash u dropped so much /. johns hopkins is top 10 still. Caltech is 12. NYU fell to 36 lol (karma for waitlisting me 2 years ago xoxo). Georgia tech rose to 34. BU, NEU, and Tulane are 39 now. pretty cool and Yeshiva dropped so hard lmao
Washu. Ouch. Also, Remember when Caltech used to be top 5? No school that broke the number one spot in 2000 should be hovering outside the top 10 today.
Must be frustrating for Amherst to be edged out by Williams every year.
@jwest22 I think Amherst students take it about as well as Harvard students take their multi-year number 2 spot. At least Harvard doesn’t have to be #2 to Yale, though!
Lol…don’t get to wrapped up in the actual number. Notice, that due to ties, the rankings go from 44, then skip to 50, there is no #47 (as UF was last year). UF is still tied with PSU, just ahead of OSU and UW (both one spot behind, at 54, there is no 51 to 53 spot), and one spot behind UW-Madison, UIUC, UC-SD, and UC-Davis (all tied at 44). Same as last year.
We also have several new schools in the list and that’s causing some of the shuffling.
Yeah but 47 sounds so much netter than 50 lol.
All this talk about how Wellesley and Middlebury were dropping in the rankings and how Pomona was now among the top three - Wellesley climbs all the way up to third and Middlebury has stayed securely in fourth for a long time, now tied with Swarthmore. Pomona however drops from four to seven.
In national universities a 7-way tie for 12th. Makes you realize how similar all these schools are.
Wake Forest still ahead of UNC? This metric is not kind to public schools…
What rivalry? Between Hamilton and Colgate?
Really now… There has never been a rivalry. Sure, there has been rivalry between Colgate and Syracuse in football over the past 100 years plus and with Cornell across the board for even longer. But Hamilton? Please!
And so I doubt anyone would deign to suggest otherwise now, simply on the basis of some new college ranking.
Colgate and Hamilton could hardly be more different. They occupy different worlds- as those all important campus visits will inform you. Study their respective websites and visit them both. They are only 25 minutes apart by car. That should do it.
Go 'gate!
30 new national universities - check
Villanova top 50 - check
Rice moves up - check
Lehigh moves up - check
Temple moves up - check
Chicago at #3 still overrated. I would put them at #9. They are ranked very inconsistently in different places.
Stanford #5 and MIT #7 are underrated.
Duke and Penn are tied at #8. Those two should also be tied with Columbia.
Washington University in STL at #19 is a little closer to reality.
