US News Rankings 2010 - Confirmed (Have Source)

Hey everyone, my mom's best friend works for US News, and through strings (my mom is one of those ranking-fanatics, sigh), my mother obtained the rankings early (apparently, they were established months ago, and most people that work at US News are able to get them), and I am here to relay them to you. I am not someone who cares deeply about them, but this is CC, so I figured you guys would care. I also saw the other FAKE thread, and it is incorrect. Only other information I found out was that the methodology is the same for figuring out the rankings. So, I proudly have them for you (warning: not too many significant changes):

So your source is your mom?

Next 25-75 please in National Universities rankings…thanks in advance. Just curious. And we will check out the published list and compare to this list to see how accurate your source is.

As an aside, I see if this is accurate it means that WashU’s tactics the last several years are paying off for them handsomely…cynical as it may be…

they have played the numbers games well…to the consternation of the thousands who ended up on their wait lists.

…stop with these ranking leaks please… we will find out soon enough.

Haha no clue why I found that comment so funny noobcake…
As for the rankings… I suppose we’ll see if he’s full of crap in T-minus 9 days.

(I predict an absurd amount of these kind of threads popping up in the next few days tho…)

actually, it’s her mom’s friend.

That’s funny, I’m your mom’s source.

lol, just curious, do you have LAC’s?

5 posts …

anyway who cares nothing’s going to shift significantly, and there isn’t much of a difference between a 4 and a 5 anyway

lol, Brown in the top 15. lol

Brown ■■■■■?^

WUSTL was top 10 a few years ago, and the wait list doesn’t affect these rankings much at all.

this list seems accurate - although anything heard through the grapevine is subject to suspicion for me…

i mean no disrespect, but i can’t believe wustl is ahead of brown, nu, cornell, and jhu (which has a better med school). it’s the only glaring misplacement in my humble opinion.

This is more credible than the last one. I’m on the verge of believing it, as it corresponds with my own predictions based on the statistics I’ve seen.

However, I’m not sold that it’s legit. But it does pass my credibility criteria:

Chicago does not move down more than 1 spot.

Duke does not move down.

HYP are top 3.

No significant point shifts.

Also, the OP actually has a post count greater than 1. It’s 5, but still… Like I said, I’m still not sold.

USNWR is laughing all the way to the bank . . . does ANYBODY with an ounce of common sense really believe that this is how to choose a college or university? Sheesh . . .

…Your mom goes to college.

(Let’s see if anyone gets that reference!)

Yes, my mother’s friend is the “source.”

I have not seen the LAC rankings yet, but I think I might be able to get them through the same source if I ask…I will see in the coming days. I also did not get past the top 25; once again, I will see if I can get these.

Now, I realize of course that it is very understandable to not believe that these are real (I, too, would have been extremely skeptical), but they are real, and I don’t really have any other way to prove that they are real.

UCLA slipped to No. 26 or ?

OP, where is #23 on your ranking?
